Tourist visa denied, will this have any affect of I-130?

I was just wondering. Will my Tourist visa denial have any effect on the ongoing I-130 petition?

Last December I applied for tourist visa with intents to visit my wife for the upcoming Christmas holidays. At the embassy the officer told me that she'll be happy to give me an immigration visa but not a tourist. Will this affect my I-130 petition?

As long as you were truthful with everything on your tourist visa application, a denial of a tourist visa should not affect an immigrant visa

Yes i was truthful, lying to US embassy officer is the worst thing you could do. I was just wondering if this would somehow slowdown the petition...

No - there are tons of versions of this same story... and it kind of makes sense: You can't get a tourist visa if you intend to immigrage. The I130 proves you intend to immigrate. Therefore, you can't get a tourist visa. If only we could have gone and told our past selves "Hey, you should get a tourist visa now, while they have no reason to decline it!"

Oh well. It's a pain that you can't visit now, but it won't affect your immigration.

99 % non-immigrant visas denied because of an intention to immigration ....This is the thinking of visa officer so Non-Immigrant visa does not effect on your immigration because your intention is immigration this time but until unless you did not misrepresent any documents and tell a lie on non immigration visa process

Since everyone is talking about giving false documents or lying to an officer I'm saying that I wasn't. I asked the consulate if I can apply for a non-immigrant visa, they told me that it's OK but I need to prove my intentions of coming back. I gave them a letter from two employers, since I'm working two jobs from which one is at the Central Bank (my full time job). At that time I didn't knew that tourist visas are being denied often. My intentions were to come back since I had a contract with the bank. I'm glad this will not affect my I-130. Thank you all for your answers :)
