Hello all, looking for some input on this. I just contacted the NVC and they gave me a case number and also said that they shipped my petition to Cuidad Juarez (Which I am guessing the the embassy). They didn't really specifiy what the next steps should be. Is there some place that I can track this with the case number that the NVC provided? She also said that we should call down to them and see the case status, I am curious if the petitioner has to call or if they have English speaking representatives there as I do not speak Spanish. Any input would be much apprechiated.

Thanks

Ok thanks, When I use the USCIS case status it just shows that it was approved and sent to the NVC. It has not updated since saying that. I will try to contact the Mexican embassy. Does anybody know if the embassy will send my Fiance (She lives in Mexico) information in the mail regarding setting up the interview?

I Think this might come in handy...

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/nvc/nvc-contact-information.html.

You might want to check out the NVC Monthly thread (each month it changes so make sure you look for the FEB one). For specific procedures in the Post USCIS stage.

Also, Ciudad Juarez' not the US Embassy it is in fact a US consulate, Embassies for countries with diplomatic relations with Mexico are in Mexico City (DF). As federal powers reside there (same as in Washington DC).

and I'm sure someone will be able to assist you in your native tongue, I mean after all it is an american consulate.

link for Consulate in Juarez, there's probably Information in there about contacting them directly too.

Regarding your question about receiving something in the mail. My understanding is that Mexico does all form filling out electronically, BUT... there's the whole packet sending... so I'd probably look in one of the NVC forums and check out the guides here on VJ.

Hope it helps ;)

yes they do have bilingual reps. Just make sure you have the case number etc when calling. there's a 703 number for them so it's like making a domestic call.

the link in the above post for juarez is a big help.

the packet they mail is a next steps packet that they will mail to both the beneficiary and the petitioner/agent. even though it's an electronic process, they still will mail stuff. and at the interview you'll be asked to bring the originals of all your "scanned" copies. and you usually don/t get them back . . .

Once your app goes to NVC, i believe they don't update the uscis website because ,well, it's no longer at the uscis. Eventually you will be given another csc website where you can set up asc appointments if you want, select dhl etc (assuming you've sent in AOS)

I wouldn't hesitate to contact them with any doubts. I used an atty and yet when i got nothing in the mail , they were like, oh yeah we sent that some time ago . . . .
