  1. 1. Does that Korean pizza with the crust stuffed with potato sound so bad now?

We have places called bakeries where we can buy bread here in Texas. I was just assuming that the rest of the country did too.

You can get the best sourdough at places like Boudin, and other cities have great bakeries with the best of breads but in general, the stuff you find at your everyday Safeway is not something one can brag about...

Do you chew Black Jack gum and eat Bit O'Honey too?

I like blackjack when I see it, but Bit O'Honey is gross :(

I have yet to see a bakery in the US, although I am sure they do exist somewhere, donut shops? Sure, every corner, but not a bakery where you can get fresh baked bread that was created on the premises. It's not even just that US bread is sweet (which it is), it's also made too quickly and is always damp and the yeast is not given the time to develop so bread smells funky too. It's just not a good product or a good staple. It's a shame because there's nothing better than good quality fresh bread. Oh well.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Rugby guys have been eating Vindaloo Curry after games in the UK for years. This pizza is nothing. Pizza is for Italians.

I once ate a chicken phal. ;)

The restaurant staff stopped to watch, just to see if I was nutso enough to finish it.

The free ice cream when I did was fabulous, and probably saved the lining of my throat and other parts of me.

If you want a bakery that makes bread on the premises you will be hard pressed to find one outside the larger cities...

Buy a bread maker. That's what we do when we're not being lazy. Edited by GandD

I hate American bread. Nasty! Too much sugar, too doughy, and tastes of cake. :dead: We have the La Brea bakery in town, and their breads are everywhere, but they don't do a nice white tin loaf. Or granary loaf. Just baguettes, boules, ciabattas...

Last time I came back from the UK I brought four loaves back with me.

That's like going into a Starbucks and asking for a coffee. The staff look at you like you're an alien. :alien:
