So how many guns should I be allowed to own?

Zero IMO. But there's a constitution that says otherwise. Not only that, but if everyone else has one, including the criminals, it's probably important that you have one to protect yourself.

It's perpetual insanity.

I agree, 16 firearms are a good number. I also think that every responsible citizen should own and drive a tank at every opportunity and constellations on every home would be good as well as archery slits. Oh, and a moat, must have a moat if you are serious about self defense good.gif

Constellations? That should read crenelations? You know the castle crinkly bits.

I bought the little dipper on Ebay last week. Free shipping. Still waiting though.

No link. I call BS.

Sorry. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/02/13/ninth-circuit-strikes-californias-restrictive-rule-against-licensed-carry-of-handguns/

Also - It is possible that San Diego County may petition for en banc review. Now that there is a well-developed circuit split, it is possible that the Supreme Court may grant one of the right to carry cert. petitions currently pending, arising from the northeastern cases.

Yeah, I already said all that.

Just quoting the last of the text in the article is all. It does reaffirm want you stated earlier. There are reasons not to do it however as the damage is limited at the moment.

I agree with you on that. But there is the potential for waste of judicial resources on other similarly aggrieved parties suing municipalities and sheriff's departments. Hearing it en banc would be a way of putting the issue to rest potentially for the entire state.

Why would they have to hear it at a bank? That makes no sense.

I think it still applies to all of CA, but only on the narrow reading that self defense meets the criteria for showing good cause. At the moment, in many counties near the coast nothing meets "good cause" which is a de facto ban.

A divided federal appeals court has struck down California's concealed weapons rules, saying they violate the Second Amendment right to bear arms.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Thursday that California is wrong to require applicants to show good cause to receive a permit to carry a concealed weapon. The court ruled that all law-abiding citizens are entitled to carry concealed weapons outside the home for self-defense purposes.

Yay for California !
