The Public Housing areas of Burlington (YES there are!) are not dangerous. Why is that area dangerous? I walk down North St., Archibald, Riverside, Peru St., any of them at all hours without fear. The Bike & Hike trail goes right through that area, comes up from the intervale right behind the largest public housing development in town. Heck I could even ask for change for a $100 bill.

Why is it different there?

I can't imagine why Gary? What do you think?

I drove my wife by there today. (two glocks loaded and chambered) to have a look see. We counted 14 abandoned houses in a row.

How can someone make the assumption that one place is more dangerous than another based on observations from two individuals?

Because I told him how dangerous it was and he lives in his neck of the woods.

You wanna check into the crime states of Burlington VT vs. Macon and get back with me.

Without checking I will bet you anything you want to bet Macon is at least 4x times the rate in Vermont.

Come on

What a weird thing to do.

"Hey honey, grab the guns, let's go count abandoned houses in this sh*tty neighborhood!"

It's like they have to justify being heavily armed, so they purposely put themselves in dangerous situations? or maybe it's a hero complex thing? I personally wouldn't think of purposely putting myself or someone I loved in a dangerous situation.

I wanted her to see that everything in America is not shopping trips and the burbs. As her reaction, I thought everything in America was nice, this is worse than the Philippines.

It's reassuring for some people. The gun makes them feel safe, so they feel they can go anywhere without the fear of harm. Funny thing is, most of the time, most folks have no reason to go there, but having a gun, it's like I can go anywhere and not worry about it.

Didn't you get the memo? Having a gun grants invincibility! devil.gif

I love to carry at the mall. I strut down by the shops just hoping some thug starts some mess with me. I think I even walk different when I am packing.

 That is absolutely bizarre behavior.

Google Images seems like a better option rather than knowingly bringing someone somewhere dangerous. Just to "have a look see" and count abandoned houses.

Some of us have to work for a living

Only some of you?

You couldn't just show her some pics on the internet?

Some of us have to work for a living and companies buy buildings in these run down Democrat infested areas because they are cheap, forcing us to go there.

Do you bring your wife there for Sunday afternoon drives? Your reply has nothing to do with my statement. Why do you deflect so much?

I don't think there was a whole lot of risk driving thru there at mid day in a vehicle you don't plan to stop. Most of the thugs and crack heads sleep till about 2.

As I said I delivered packages there during the day, last Sat. As I told Fedex, when the sun starts setting I am coming home. The glut of deliveries brought on by the EIC kickbacks was amazing. It was like the Christmas rush

Risky enough to bring two guns, apparently!
