Good afternoon everyone!

Please forgive me if I'm asking something that has been asked already and in that case point me in a right direction on this...

So...finally the time is here when I can start the paperwork to bring my parents over to the US. I have been doing the research and please correct me if I'm wrong but the whole process doesn't sound too painful :). Anyway, I was wondering if someone could help me to put the packet all together for my dad. I could not really find a sample of the checklist for a parent so this is what I was thinking to include:

  • I-130 and the check
  • My naturalization certificate
  • My birth certificate both original and translation
  • My marriage certificate
  • My parents marriage certificate both original and translation
  • My father's passport page

Did I get it wright? Am I missing something? Do I need to include his birth certificate? G-325a?

Also, do I need to include I-864 right away or how does that work?

Thank you everybody so much for the help! It is greatly appreciated!

hi

you only send copies with the i130 and you never send the original naturalization certificate

now you said parents and then you asked about petitioning your father, are you planning to bring them both or only your father, because parent's are filed separately

so you have to double everything one i130 for each parent

the I864 is for later and you don't send the G325A

your father's original documents will be needed at the NVC stage

Thank you very much for your reply!

I am planning to bring both of my parents eventually but am not applying for both at the same time. My mom has a visitor visa so she is able to come and visit any time, my dad was denied visitor visa multiple times so I'd like to start with his paperwork first.

Now, just for my father, am I missing any paperwork on my checklist?

Thanks again!

yes u need his birth certificate copy

Thank you for your reply!

Do I need to include the birth certificate copy with I-130 paperwork?
