Seems like k3 is not so obsolete after all

It is obsolete; the OP isn't getting a K-3.

My k3 petition made it all the way to the embassy in Kingston Jamaica. And my husband's interview was on the 7th of February 2014. When we reached the embassy they said an interview could not take place because our ir1/cr1 reached NVC already. They told him to leave all his documents with them and they will notify him when they sort it out. We thought it would be another couple months wait but little did we know that that same day they requested NVC expedite the ir1/cr1 case from NVC to the US Embassy in Jamaica! I found out by calling NVC. Then i tracked it through DHL. Nd it reached jamaica Tuesday February 11th!!! I emailed the embassy to ask if we can get another interview since they already have most of the documents nd they called his phone the same day and scheduled us for our ir1 /cr1 interview next week February 20th!!! Plus they said i only have to pay $230 for the visa and not the $88 affidavit of support procesing fee since its not being processed domestically (in the US)! I am soooo happy! I thought my k visa slowed down our ir1/cr1 but it actually boosted it! Also im happy we r getting this visa as he will be an LPR immediately and can work as soon as he gets to the states. I will make sure to give a review of how our interview went!

yes, the I-130 adjudication was delayed because of the I-129F that you filed.

It's ok that you not 'see it' or 'understand it',

as

what matters now is that the IV unit is miraculously doing stuff on your behalf,

to prep and issue

your spouse

a superior visa.

K-3s suck, after issuance, on all levels that you'll find meaningful in the USA:

--cannot work

--cannot get SSN

--have to pay more money to get a green card (1020 or close to it)

--have to wait 2 to 10 months for a green card after filing for it

so, the Consulate, IV Unit, did you a favor.

Burn some joss, you've been blessed recently.

Yes I know but it helped speed up her case

Not at USCIS.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yay congrats! Glad to know your embassy is working hard to get you two into the USA. It sure is nice to hear about a positive like this. Let us know how the interview goes! (It's on my birthday so that must be good luck right? Lol!)

Hello, looking for k3 visa interviews i came across your post. Nvc assigned my k3 case and i went forward with scheduling an interview and fingerprints etc... 1 month later nvc assigns case number to my 130, and now i read this and it terrifies me. What if the embassy does nit want to approve the k3 because the 130 is at nvc already :(

130 PD: 3/31/14

129F PD: 4/25/14

!30 Approved: 9/5/14

129F Approved: 9/5/14

NVC Received: Anxiously waiting..

NVC Assigned Case #:
