Advice please. Starting my adjustment, I-94 expired a week ago. Got married suddenly. Relatives will visit.

Hi, I hope someone can give me some insight of my case. I entered the US on a B2 Visa at the beginning of August last year to visit my boyfriend and we ended up getting married on October 16th, 2013. My I-94 expired last week and we are about to submit all the paperwork, we just need the translation of my birth certificate stamped by a notary.

What concerns me is that I am having a wedding reception in 8 weeks and my parents and brothers are coming for the party. They have visas and they are just visiting for a week, they have been here before, they actually traveled here urgently when I told them I was getting married.

But now I am worried they will have a problem at the port of entry because of me overstaying my visa while I am adjusting my status.

It would be devastating if they are denied the entry and cannot be with me in such an important day in our lives.

What can I do to avoid this situation? Is that possible?

Your overstay will have no bearing on their entry; as with all visitors they may need to show proof that they will return to Mexico once their period of authorised stay has expired, but if they have already obtained visas then they probably won't have an issue with CBP, although they have the final say.

I don't think your parents should have any problem. If anyone should have a problem, it would be you. Your situation should not be a part of theirs and the two shlould not be related.
