Update for you.

"Thank you for your inquiry.

Please be informed that the new system will not affect the scheduling of your interview appointment. Your case is still being scheduled for a visa interview. Our office will schedule an appointment at the earliest opportunity. "

Did you already receive package 3 and submit the DS-160? We submitted ours in December. I emailed the embassy and they told me about this new system, so I am assuming it will apply to us. It is a little odd that some applicants will not be able to use it...

I am playing the waiting game since nov 14. Today is 3 months or basically 90 days for me so I figure I have about another 10-15 days to get a letter since the avg is about 111 days right now.

I called dos as well and they told me the same thing.

603-334-0700 is the number I used to ask also.

So, people that already got an email that they are being scheduled (She got hers last week) will not need to use the new system? They said her wait is about 1-3 months.

I would email and ask them Dave. They are pretty quick with their emails. Just make sure you select other questions before your interview on the pull down menu or else you will get a copy and paste response. You can literally see it also where they type thank you for blah blah in black and the rest is in blue text. I just know for Bill his date was before mine so I know my situation and email from the embassy would pertain to him as well. I just hope for everyone that has been waiting doesn't get screwed out and have to start over like the new visas that was just applied.

  • If you have already scheduled a visa appointment AND paid the visa application fee to Citibank or Eximbank, you should appear at the Embassy or Consulate General on the day of your appointment. The new procedures will not affect your application process.

  • If you have not scheduled a visa appointment, but you have paid the visa application fee at Citibank or Eximbank, you will not be able to use the new appointment system. You should try to schedule an appointment under the existing appointment system before February 22, 2014. If you are unable to schedule an appointment before February 22, you should contact the Call Center for further instructions.

Depends.... You got the interview date but did you pay the application fee at Citibank? If no then according to the website you can use the new system.

Dave & Mong

Did she receive package 3 or package 4? If it's package 4 then are you telling us that there was no interview date provided in the package? That sounds kind of weird because the expectation is to obtain the actually interview date with package 4 unless i'm totally off here.

Yes she received packet 3 and returned it The embassy said in an IV response they have received all required completed forms and will schedule an interview. This takes between 1-3 months. That was around 2/7/14.

ok.... here is how the new process works.

1) go here and create an account "https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/"

2) Select "New Application / Schedule Appointment

3) Select "Immigrant Visa"

4) Select "K Visa"

5) Select "K1 - Fiance or Fiancee of U.S. Citizen"

6) Fill out the passport information, address and telephone number, email (Note: for State, just put NA)

7) Add existing application (This depends on your situation)

8) Confirm the address

9) Click on "Click Here for all payment options"

10) Select "Cash" <--- This is your only option

11) Print this out. This is your payment slip

12) Go to the HSBC bank and bring your payment slip and pay for the fee here:

HSBC Metropolitan 235 Dong Khoi Street,

District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

13) Keep the receipt and then go back to the "https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/" after 1 to 2 business days after payment

14) Select "Continue" to continue your process

15) Input the Receipt number (CGIXXXXXXX)

16) Schedule the interview date (Note: Make sure you schedule it a few weeks advance so she has time to do the medical)

17) Go do the medical. Make sure to print out the interview date and bring this to the medical place

18) Go to the interview date

Hope that helps you guys. I finish everything except for the payment. The bank is open m-f from 8am to xxx. You should to pay before 11am.

Cheers!
