another question: i thought i remember reading that applicants have to go to the embassy twice--once the day before their interview (to submit paperwork and take fingerprints or something like that) and then again on the day of their interview for the actual interview. but my fiance is saying that it doesn't say to do this in any of the instructions and all the "internet friends" are telling him that that isn't the case. what's the deal!!?!?!?

Procedures/times have evolved/changed with the advent of the usatraveldocs (CGI Stanley) intermediary, and the transition to the new consulate site. When my wife and stepson had their visa interview at the GUZ consulate, it was two days, with a day in between. That is is I remember correctly......OMG !!....that has been almost two years ago for us !!..... What I do remember is that it the weather was unbearable in June....

Check recent China forum postings from folks that have run the GUZ gauntlet recently. Be sure to report back on your GUZ experience.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

It's all done on one day now, fingerprinted, document submission and interview is all within an hour or two at the scheduled time through the CGI stanley site. I'm sure it's still a mess though on the website as it was back last July. Good luck!
