Hello everyone,

This is my first post, I hope you'll be able to answer my question!

I'll soon have my interview in Paris (DV 2014), and I was wondering if it is necessary to

fiil-out the DS-260 (which is mentioned in the list of documents to bring for this embassy).

I thought that the DS-230 replaced it, am I wrong?unsure.png

Same question for the affidavit of support, also mandatory or a bank statement will suffice?

Thanks for your help...

The DS260 replaced the DS230, not the other way round, but if you have sent in a DS230 the consulate will have it. If they specifically say they want a DS260 for DV interviews (and what you read is not just the general immigrant visa interview guidelines) I'd suggest you check with them.

Unless you are specifically told you need an affidavit of support your own proof of financial situation is fine - it may not even be asked for but it's better to have it just in case. Bank statement, list of assets etc.

Thank you very much Susie,

Yes I sent the DS-230 to KCC so I guess filling out the DS-260 is a bit redundant, but better be safe than sorry yes.gif

You're right, I 'd better contact the embassy in case they tell my something different.

BTW, below is the link to the instructions for Paris (both DS-260 and affidavit or "apparently" required).

Yes see, that's the general immigrant info pack. You'll notice it refers to what may have been sent to NVC or USCIS, not KCC. Because just about all other classes of immigrant visas require a petition by a sponsor, that is why an affidavit of support is standard for these. And these people will not have sent DS forms in many months ago like DV winners would have - the DS260 was only available since Sept last year. Have you checked on the dvselectee website if there are special instructions for Paris? Edited by SusieQQQ

If you're talking about the travel.state.gov website then yes I did and couldn't find anything particular to Paris (unless I'm blind).

Anyway, I don't think that will be an issue, I'll keep looking into it and if I can't clear this up I'm going to send them an email

(and not call because, you know, $20 to be granted the opportunity to talk to somebody is a little bit hard to swallow, no matter how important).

Thanks for your follow up, very kind of you.
