Question about I-130 (Spouse)

My wife is a US citizen and we currently reside in the UAE. We are looking forward to file for I-130 (for spouse green card).

Do I need to mention in the form that my wife is outside the US ? Or should I file as if she is still living in the US ?

Please help as I will like to do this correctly.

Also, Is I-130 the right form to start with ??

Thank you for your reply.

She is living with me in the UAE and has a resident visa.

In this case should I mention that she is outside the US or someone else needs to sponsor me as she is not working in the US.

If my spouse and I are residing outside the US, is it wise to file the I-130 and show the international address or will it be better to show that she is still residing in the US ? Does it make any difference where to file the I-130 ?

Hi, no matter where you file I-130. I think the address on I-130 will be US address

Is your spouse an LPR? Is she residing outside the US with a valid Reentry Permit?

You do realize that an LPR should be residing in the US, right? Hence the "permanent resident."

she can file from abroad.....

i live in Brazil with my husband, and we filed using our Brazilian address...some people filing from abroad have actually had faster processing times, however when you arrive at the NVC part of the process you will need to provide a joint sponsor (you mentioned that she doesn´t work right now) as well as evidence of intent to re-establish domicile (this can be US voter registration, a letter with a job offer, current US driver´s license, a US bank account, property titles, there are many things that she can use).

good luck with everything!!!!

Thanks guys I appreciate your help.

I am just getting everything together and will file for it. I have already completed my I-130 form. So you suggest that living in Abu Dhabi I should provide them my local address as my wife is residing here.

I shall provide them a mutual financial sponsor letter when asked and then I believe I can provide them the US address if needed.

I hope I am doing it right.

Well I am confused on the address part of the forum (section B -2 Information about you & Section C-2 Information about your relative). As both of us live outside the US on the same address.

Can anyone suggest If I should mention a US address or my address where I am living now ?

It may sound stupid asking this question but i want to do it right to avoid any problems.
