Did you have an interview or was your AOS approved without an interview?

The sequence of your GC approval (with the Document Production first then the Decision) is perfectly normal. That happened to me as well a couple of years ago when my AOS was approved.

I just got our GC today in USPS mail. though none of notices was received yet. but supper happy!!!

Got my combo card (EAD/AP) but nothing else, no interview notice or anything, anyone else in the same situation that filed in February?

I've been waiting for my interview date since March 26th, but my local office is Atlanta GA which is one of the more back-logged offices. They are just doing November filers currently, so I probably won't hear anything for at least 2 more months.

It all depends on your local office, hang in there!

So we had our Interview this morning.

Nobody else there so we sat alone in the waiting room for 5 or so minutes. Immigration officer was very professional, not a lot of conversation but nice when he was speaking to us.

Went through our forms, asked for certified marriage copy which I had brought in addition to our original. Elizabeth was asked to confirm her information on the I-130 form and I answered all the questions on the I-485 (lots of saying no!!)

After that he asked if we had any other evidence to show, so we produced mortgage document and joint credit card statement. He didn't look at our photo album. I had already submitted leases since 2010, bank statements, insurance docs, wedding, engagement and many vacation photos since 2009 in the original submission so he didn't ask to keep anything I produced as evidence today. Just asked when we planned to move address and that we would need to and how to inform them if doing so before case is closed.

And with that he told us about removing conditions, that our case would be reviewed and that we would be notified within 130 days (or something). Then told us we were done and showed us out.

No questions about how we met or anything about our relationship at all, I was a little worried due to this and thought we might end up having a 2nd interview even though he told us about ROC etc.

Anyway we received a I-485 case update saying they had ordered card production, so looks like I am getting to join the GC club! I-130 is still at review stage.

Please let us know how it went :) mine is tomorrow, I am so nervous

We arrived 30 minutes before our appointment. I believe there were about 3-4 AOS couples/families before us. Had to wait, and were let inside about 15 minutes later than our scheduled appointment, so the overall wait time was about 40-45 minutes. The immigration officer was a woman in her 50s, didn't really smile when we met. Went inside her office, swore an oath and then she asked us to put anything that we brought in on her table. We had 3 photoalbums, plus a scrapbook. The biggest concern was with an expandable file that contained all of our docs. I think we overdid it - I spent the whole evening on Sunday just to organize this folder. Here is the photo of a similar file that we had:

http://www.amazon.com/Wilson-Jones-ColorLife-Expanding-WCCC7117A-BL/dp/B00006ICDC/ref=pd_sim_op_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=06EX433N9J0VSDE8WNCA

So, every compartment of the file contained a set of documents. Each document was paper clipped to its copy. I thought that maybe we will take some stuff out if our Io asks us for supporting evidence. Unfortunately, the officer asked us to get everything out. Boy, that was a mess. Everything mixed up in a second. She found our passports with the copies and set them aside.

After that, the IO proceeded to go through our albums. She didn't ask us a question. At some time when she turned a page, I noticed there was a random empty page and chuckled. The IO asked me what's wrong, and I explained that to her. She didn't seem to pay attention and continued turning pages.

The IO then proceeded to asking questions. Nothing really special: DOB, in what city we were born, how we met and our first date, when we got married, how we celebrated, how many people were there, if we have the lease with us, how much is the rent, where do we work, etc. Then, she started asking me yes/no questions from the i-485.

At the end, she asked us if we had any questions. I asked how soon we should hear from USCIS, she said it will take up to 120 days to receive a response, but we should expect the decision sooner. She also said that everything looks good.

Last night both cases for i-485 and i-130 went back to Initial Review stage. Today I received a tracking for the EAD card.

November 2013 - Got Married, yay!
