Hi Everyone

I have a quick question. I filed the AOS along with I-765 and I-131 for my wife who entered on a K-1 visa.. It was received by USCIS on February 26, 2014. Last week I received the EAD combo card in the mail. My status for the I-485 still shows in the acceptance stage on the case status site.

When I sent off the AOS package I included my 2012 tax return and transcripts for three years as well. I had not filed 2013 taxes at the time of filing since it was not due. I was wondering if this will be a problem for our application. We have not received anything or heard from them at all. I have since filed an extension for my 2013 taxes.

Also any idea why I have not heard regarding an interview or anything.

Any insight would be highly appreciated.

at the day of the interview they may ask you to send 2013 in.... When I send my package i did not included the transcrip, all I sent was W-2's and 1040 Forms

I have to say a big thank you to Visajourney and everyone who helped us during our AOS process! I had my interview yesterday and got approved right on the spot! :) Here's our experience, which was a little different from what we expected.

We arrived at the building 30 minutes before our appointment time. Funny side story: There were a lot of people outside, and we thought they were just waiting to cross the street. We went inside the building, passing a lot of people at the lobby and went went into the elevators and got out at our floor. NO ONE WAS THERE. No security, no customers, no officers. It was completely empty, and my first thought was that they must be on lunch break. LOL anyway, we heard an announcement saying, "If you haven't vacated the building, please do so now." I did not understand it since the voice was kinda muffled, but my husband did. So right when we were about to get back into the elevator, there was another announcement saying, "False alarm." And five minutes later the security personnel got back and wondered what we were doing there. HAHA

Okay, so after that incident we checked in, and sat in the waiting area, while people were still filing back into the office. There were about five other people who checked in after us, another couple, and then others who had a citizenship exam and infopass. We waited another 10 minutes and an officer got out and called in the couple next to us. Before escorting them into his office, he approached me and my husband, saying that because of the fire alarm, our appointment would be delayed a bit since there was a couple who was scheduled before us. We waited about 40 minutes until the other couple was done, and another five minutes before my husband was called in first. I was asked to wait. 10 minutes came by and my husband came out and the officer called me in. He was about in his late thirties, at most, and he was nice, made a couple of jokes even before he started the interview. He showed me the video camera, saying I was going to be videotaped, and that to make the process go smoothly it would be best if I told the truth. I took my oath and then it began. Here are the questions he asked me:

1. What's your name?

2. What's your address?

3. When's your birthday?

4. What 's your husband's name?

5. What's your husband's birthday?

6. Do you have any children?

7. Does your husband have any children?

8. What's the name of your husband's child?

9. How old is he?

10. What's your husband's parents' names?

11. Did you guys do anything on Valentines' Day? What did you do?

12. What did you do on his son's birthday?

13. Who was there at his son's birthday?

14. What do you guys do together?

15. What did you guys do last night?

16. Do have any plans later?

17. Are you working now?

18. When will you start working?

19. Who's your employer?

20. The yes/no questions on the I-485 about terrorism, guns, espionage, etc...

After that he told me that the interview was over and that he has to call my husband in. When they both came back into the office, he said our interview went great and that I have been approved to get my green card! YAY! :D He then explained the ROC process and told us my card would arrive in the mail within a 1-2 months. WOOOHOOO! The whole interview lasted about 20 minutes for both of us combined.

We got into the car and left two hours after we arrived. If it wasn't for the false fire alarm I'm sure it would have been much sooner. My husband and I exchanged notes and he said he was asked to present proof of citizenship, so he showed the officer his birth certificate. He said the officer also looked through some of our pictures. I'm so happy I got approved and I hope everyone who has their interview soon will be too! Good luck to everyone and a big thank you to the Visajourney community! I'll see you again for the ROC!
