I was wondering if all of you submitted the birth certificate of the petitioner? Did anyone just send a naturalization certificate of the US citizen + US Passport ONLY as proof of citizenship or did all of you submit birth certificates?

I just realized after reading the interview notice that I need to take the birth certificate of the US citizen to the interview which we don't have.

He wasn't born in US and now I have no idea HOW we're gonna find his BC.

Good point. But i dont think they are that crazy strict on the US citizen.. 'Opinion'.. I dont think its a deal breaker as long as he has passport (citizen).

By the way, can some who has received the interview (appointment date) letter. Post a list documents and papers to bring to the interview.

Or just post an image of their letter showing the list of documents needed.

Everyone, please add your details to the Google Spreadsheet - Goodluck to all

The interview letter clearly states "Petitioners birth certificate" as one of the items to bring along.

And then again, it says one more time that if AOS is based on marriage, must bring petitioner's birth certificate +US naturalization certificate (I have this)

I didn't know I have to make copies of the original docs to give to them....

Hi congrats & good luck for your interview, now as for you husband's BC which country was he born in?

He was born in Saudi Arabia. I've asked him to keep looking and in the meantime I'll be contacting the consulate for a copy. I heard its very difficult for non-Saudis to get a copy since SA doesn't give citizenship upon birth. His parents were pakistani at the time and so the child born in Saudi gets the parent's citizenship.

With no contact in that country, it may seem difficult to get a copy....

When we submitted the I-130 we also included a copy of my husband's (USC/petitioner) birth certificate because he was not born in the US.

Refer to Page 4 of the instruction for for the I-130 and read the section What if a Document is not Available?

Option D Affidavits may be your best bet if there is no way to obtain a replacement birth certificate for your husband. I hope he can find it though!
