Got an email this morning that my interview has scheduled on May 9. (I sent out my application on Feb. 3rd.)

However, I will be out of town that day so I am thinking about requesting for rescheduling.

I have read other people's posts regarding their horrible stories of case closed, request not processed, or etc.

Has anyone rescheduled their interview recently? I am aware that a lot of it is up to their local officer, unfortunately..

I also found an interesting post about rescheduling interview by email. Has anyone done or heard this before?

Hi & congrats on your interview, I don't have any experience or rescheduling but on the letter that you will get about your appointment it does say that " YOU MUST APPEAR FOR THIS INTERVIEW" then says "If an emergency such as your own illness or a close relatives hospitalization prevents you from appearing", then call them to reschedule.

Could you not reschedule the other thing you have got planed. As this interview will ultimately decide your future.

Thanks Brian for the quoting!

I haven't gotten the letter yet, so didn't know what's on it.

I know mine is not a life-threating situation as they want but was just hoping for a little luck. That day is my grad school graduation so I made a reservation and already paid for the hotel and flight tickets (I live in a different state now) and made my family coming from different countries to see me walking down so.. I am afraid that not only me but my family would also lose a lot of money due to this..

Well, not much I can do I guess. I have read many people requested for rescheduling and got denied their cases due to their "no-show".

Thought I would've been happier than this when I got the interview date!

As they say it's sods law that you can get two important events on the same day :ranting: well when you get your letter through it will give you the time & place of the interview then try giving them a ring & ask to speak to a 2 tier IO as they can look at your case apparently, because the first person you get to speak to cannot look at your case, I hope this helps & good luck with it.

Our joint sponsor doesn't have a passport! We mistakenly thought her drivers licence would be sufficient but evidently it wasn't. I'm not too fussed, just glad it was a nice easy fix :)

All of your cases are almost in sync with mine, unfortunately, I have one of if not the slowest USCIS offices to have my interview scheduled at. Hopefully I get my EAD soon, it's been 53 days since my NOA1 with no RFEs.

It seems everyone did an early walk-in. I was the silly one who waited the entire three weeks for my Biometrics. I could've been in the 'Testing and Interview' stage by now…. I'm sooooo anxious about this.

BTW, if I created an online account to check my updates is it problematic to put a different email and phone number than the original one sent with the application?

I didn't do an early walk in either.. had no clue that you could! My status has changed to 'Interview & Testing' but I wonder if it would have changed a couple weeks ago had I done an early walk in.. very frustrating!

I wish I knew too….. Oh well. It seems it takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks after biometrics to get a change to 'testing and interview'. I check my phone and online religiously. It will be two weeks in 2 days. Then i will certainly go crazy until I get an update. I need to get busier at work or play more tennis in the evening to keep my mind off it.
