Well, anyway

I don't believe that monogomous, commited relationships require validation by a marriage ceremony in order to be successful.

The only 'evidence' produced to 'prove' that marriage is the most successful vehicle for a commited relationship was seriously flawed because there were no statistics pertaining to those couples who choose co-habitation (monogomous relationship) and NEVER go through a marriage ceremony

Feeling 'forced' or 'rushed' into marriage as a direct result of the immigration process is not evidence of lack of comitment.

The marriage ceremony is important to people for all kinds of reasons but it doesn't guarentee a lasting relationship.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Yea. I'll bet alot of you would fight less if you attached some "hon"s, "sweetie"s and "sis"es to your posts. I'm from the south. We tend to do that. It's a hospitable thing that some of you seem to find offensive, for some reason.

Yeah, right. BTW Caroline's from the south too.

I've got friends from the south...I find it translates better verbally than in text, especially if someone is a relative stranger (not a strange relative).

Those phrases don't bug me at all, so if you feel the need to put them out there en masse at me, feel free. :)

I think she's trying to say that since most of us (women, of course) agree with you, we don't find you being offensive to szsz.

Well I have been trying really hard to use my manners.

You have, sis. You have been great. After days of this, it has been hard for me to see your rare gem thru all the poop clouding the issues. I'm sorry if I haven't expressed my appreciation earlier.

I can be rather brutal and in-your-face myself. I have a big mouth. I try to watch it.

Still. At my age. And all.

Hmm -Sweetie, for such a learned, masculine educated sociologist I'm surprised you have to ask, hon

Since you asked, Gary, I meant that Caroline could easily call SZSZ out on her BS. And look! She already did!

It is better verbally than in text, and so am I :)

We all have variations in style and delivery. Knowing that, I tend not to be repulsed by how someone states their view. Some are overly sensitive, some just troll around looking for the latest brawl. We're not all going to be the same or perceive each other the same way. And we do prefer those who are most like us. Being in the environment I'm in, I get to take alot of tests to determine aptitude, personality, etc. I know that my style and preferences are shared by only 10% of the US population, and only 2% of those are women. Thus, I am used to my style not being one women identify with. That is a fact. That I say it is offensive to some is something I have no control over, but it helps me understand why women are so often offended by my delivery. I don't intend to change my style, nor can I change anyone else's, so I've learned to deal with it.
