'Forced' to marry

You criticized my post about getting married in a jeans and sweater, and I explained why. From that, I'm not sure why you feel a need to battle with me now. Perhaps you could explain that.

Getting back to the facts

The immigration process is flawed. Not all couples who are in a commited, happy, monogomous relationship wish to have that relationship 'validated' by a marriage ceremony, religious or civil. Some of course cannot have their relationship validated (same sex couples)

However, everyone who commits to the immgration process MUST marry in order to live together in the US. Some people feel their hands are 'forced' by 'having' to do this. Does this make their relationship less valid than those who, without thought go through the marriage ceremony? Prove to me that this is so and you have won the marriage equals commitment argument.

I think we all agreed that marriage does not equal commitment.

They must be applied to be effective and there have been very few applications of them evident here.

For three days now, I have been pummeled by people who find me offensive. They have not shown the courtesy and respect they expect to receive. That such demands are made of me is hypocritical. My advoce is if you don't like me, don't try to change me coz it ain't gonna happen. Deal with it.

The source of all 40 pages of this topic are resolutely around the proposition that marriage is the 'best' vehicle in terms of proving that one's commitment to a relationship to be lasting and successful and that if you feel 'forced' to marry, you are not really 'commited' to your relationship or was it really just about calling each other names?

If you felt no need to explain yourself then you wouldnt have. The fact that you did shows you wanted to. You have put yourself in the situation you are in right now on this thread.

and im not going to respond to any more of your childish remarks, it only makes me in the same catagory as you, and i prefer to not go there in my lifetime. I prefer to remain an adult and not discuss something with someone who will never be openminded. enjoy your conversation with the rest of the gals

See, here's the thing . . . I was trying to be nice to you. Why bother? All it got me is more name calling and ridiculous accusations from someone I had agreed with at the start. Screw this! Most of you are impossible!
