Oh, actually, I'm more of a political scientist. But it's a social science! No one ever starts flamey threads about the Mongolian political party system, le sigh.

Motherland Democratic Alliance or die! I'll flame anyone who is a fan of that ####### Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party

Replace the word "marriage" with the word "commitment" in the above comments, and see how that comes across.

Why would I do that? They don't mean the same thing.

Yes, that seems to a big part of the problem.

Ah, Gary, you don't want to drink from this poison, hon.

All someone has to do is announce that they're a sociologist who agrees with you and you're bending over. No depth involved with that. Typical.

careful, you appear to be spiraling....

Appearances can be deceiving, I'm the only one that hasn't had the kool aid.

Wasn't he agreeing with you?

Yes, I was saying he doesn't want a piece of this. It's not healthy.

Keep telling yourself that.

Funny, for a 'social scientist' all you've done is insult and alienate people. If you were truly interested in discussion, you'd have a different approach. Instead, you're like old yeller at the end of the movie, or a lil poodle biting everyone's ankles.

and that is such a shame. What an interesting conversation that could've been!

Perhaps you've had some other pharmacotherapy this evening.

No one's insulting me. When are you going to start?

You guys remind me of my east coast friends who were all absolutely convinced and self-assured that Kerry was going to win the presidential election. They were incredulous when he didn't. Why? Because everyone they knew was voting for Kerry! It didn't occur to them that there were people they didn't talk to who didn't agree with them. They drank the kool aid, and when they woke up, they lost.

You're projecting your habits on me again.

Well, your friends don't sound so bright. They ought to have known it was a very close election. Being from Boston, even *I* knew that. Maybe you should hang out with smarter people. And switch to gin. Better than Kool Aid. Mmmmm...

I suggest that you take your own advice here on this thread. You're not on the smart side now.

What advice would that be? Seriously, you're not making any sense.
