are the approval for proof of domicile at the interviewer's discretion?

When it comes to proof of domicile, is it subjective where the interviewer uses their own judgement, or are there very specific requirements where you must meet in order to qualify.

I know there is a template floating around where we can use to support our proof of domicile, but unfortunately, a lot of the support in that letter don't apply to me (i,e I don't have a car, or apartment registered to my name in the U.S,, and I don't have kids where to register them for school).

Here is what I have though:

my permanent address is listed as my parents home in the U.S.

I still have a U.S bank account.

I have an active IRA.

U.S driver's license

paid my taxes

I have a rental home in my name

homeowner's insurance

chat log of casual conversation with friends about me coming back.

Another thing I'll probably mention is that I haven't been able to land a job abroad, so I have good reason to go back to the States (mention previous income to talk about my employability).

With all that, will that be sufficient you think?

I found this site when researching something else a couple weeks ago: http://www.state.gov/m/a/dir/regs/fam/09fam/index.htm%C2'>My quick search didn't show anything about determining domicile, but I didn't look too hard.

The things you mention are almost exactly the same as what I plan to use once I get to that stage. Based on the other posts here, it seems that should be sufficient. Although, you might want to document some exchanges with a recruiter and perhaps some indication of where you will live (are there tenants in the rental property? Will you need them to vacate?)
