Hi VJ members, I would like some advise please.... I had my interview on January 28, my case was updated same day then on the 29th case was created and updated again with "ready" status which I think is normal however, today it was updated again but still saying "ready", can anyone please tell me what it means? I was expecting AP status or something like that... just want to know if this is normal

while they are doing the actual administrative processing the status will remain as "ready" under the immigrant visa category. Once adminstrative processing has been complete (name/background checks), then the category will change to non-immigrant visa for K1. Once recategorized to Non-Immigrant it will go from "Ready", "administrative processing" - this is usally when the visa is queue to print and your sealed packaged is assembled, then finally "issued".

The embassy no longer issues the tracking number. THe tracking number is created by DHL once they pick up the visa. Which is usually the next day after your status is switched to issued. After 90 days you can have your congress person or senator submit a congressional inquiry to verify the status of your case. From what I learned the name and background checks are conducted by US officer and not jamaican embassy staff and usually this is one person who does all checks for all applicants. So it may very will be you file is in queue and is taking this long. Usually congress/senator will not submit an inquiry until the 90 days have passed. Often times if you are just in queue, you file is pulled verified and processed shortly afterwards.

Good luck!

She needs to wait until the status changes to Issued, and then wait for it to be delivered. This can take time, depending on the embassy and where she's from.

November 14th, 2013: She's here!

December 12th, 2013: Picked up marriage license.

December 14th, 2013: Wedding

Thanks for taking your time to answer my question. I really appreciate about it. I will tell her to stay calm and wait for it until it issued. would you mind if you can tell me that ceac is updated everyday or only Monday or Friday ??? Thanks again Edited by heng heng
