Birth Certificate - London Interview HELP

Hi all - its me again. I thought I noticed someone said they ran into a issue at the embassy because their parents names were not on their birth certificate. Can anyone confirm this?

I just talked to my fiance to double check this and he has 2 birth certificates (a long one and short one). Neither of them have his parents name on them.

Help - thought we had everything we needed. Just really don't want to run into any issues.

You need the long version but it normally has parents names on them. Are you sure he is looking at the right thing, is there a space for parents names, if not then he has the wrong thing. All you need to do is call the registrar of births deaths and marriages where ever the birth was registered and order a certified copy, costs about a tenner.

Ok - thanks so much! Craig is off to the registry today to get the birth certificate sorted. Couple more questions: No backpack in the embassy?? Also saw someone waited 4hours before being seen for interview??? Is this typical? Worried about return train ticket.

I took my backpack in with no issues. In fact they told me to put my belt and such in there instead of giving me a plastic bag. Have you even read the K1 guide, or the link to my review contained within?

The four hours thing.. well, that's not typical. But if you're last in line regarding Immigrant Visas, it can happen. I was in and out within the space of an hour, all told.

Thank you - interview is tomorrow. Craig leaves on a train tonight for London. We are both so nervous - I know I will not be getting any sleep tonight. Hoping to be able to post good news to you all tomorrow!!!!!
