Hi,

We have had our I-129F approved and are waiting for it to go through the NVC etc etc, but we would like to know some more info about the Affidavit of Support.

Mainly we need to know if the income is based on Gross or Net income, Can my fiancee be my sponser? etc etc

We are worried that she might not make enough money to show that she is able to supoort me!!

She is on around $20000 per year. Any and all help would be very much appreciated, and if anyone could speak from personal experience that would be great :)

Thanks

Ash and Debs

You use Gross income, before taxes, correct Affidavit form to use for visa interview at the consulate is I-134, and your fiancee should be able to sponsor you with an income level of 20,000 unless she has more than 2 dependent children.

Please fill in the details in your profile, and start a timeline.

Always use gross income.

There are no specific numbers for the I-134 although the US Poverty guideline of at least 100% is anecdotally used as a guage.

Sponsorship requirements are somewhat consulate specific. Please research your consulate.
