2006- in the middle of the visa process. Lonely and missing Amed. In April, Amed arrived! We were civilly married in May, he got a job in June, we got AOS in August, had our big wedding in November, went on the best honeymoon ever, and came back and moved into our new place. Very, very blessed year.

2007- Hoping we can both find resolution with our job situations (we both want something different), and that we can save some money and travel a bit. We want to go to Algeria and to Paris to visit family and friends. Otherwise, we are hoping for more of the same! We're not in any hurry to have kids.

my 2006 had its share of ups and downs....

the good.... hubby finally got day shift, I was pregnant (finally, after about a year or so of kind of trying) and we found a great 2 bedroom apartment.....

the bad... I went into premature labour and had a baby that was born at 23 weeks and only lived for 12 days :(

For me it's pretty obvious.... 2006 is when my now husband entered the US on his K1 and we were married! :luv:

For 2007 we're hoping for this new house we've been looking at...and for my husband to find permanent employment. :)

I was all alone on 2006 because obviously dj and I still had the long distance thing. I was just trying to let each day pass and hoped soon we'll be together again.. which we did by september! But now I realized, it was not just a good year, actually very good because I had my family, my bestfriend, my shih tsu poo MATET and the whole time I was surrounded with love. I just wished I treasured every moment of it. Oh, and I love my bestfriend (right there below at the most bottom) so much we've been friends since fourth grade and she came with me in the US for my wedding and now it's only 2 months left she has to go back home.. I guess the world is fair isn't it? It gives you what you want, but you have to give the world something back.... sucks big time.

2006 had been very good for us:

1. I had a good job and salary increase (nice pay) in the Philippines and with travel opportunities (however, I have to resign when I have to leave for the U.S.; I'm glad they allowed me to resign because of an emergency situation: my daughter is ageing-out and we need to go; I am connected with a joint government and U.N. project; and my boss assured me that they hope to work with me again in the future if ever I come back)

2. got my annulment decree

3. sent off the I-129F which got approved

4. got the visa for me (K1) and 2 daughters (K2) and we flew to the U.S.

5. finally married my John in Texas

6. Our first Thanksgiving Celebration with John's best friend and family

6. 9 year old daughter (K2) accepted in the fourth grade

7. John gave me a brand new car: Christmas gift (which I don't drive yet pending my Texas DL issuance)

8. New job with better pay for John

9. 20 year old daughter (K2) admitted at the Community College

10. Got my SS card

11. First time to meet John's only daughter; she is great!

12. Letter from the Congressman that he is interested in our case and will follow up our request for expeditious handling of our adjustment of status because one K2 daughter is age-ing out

13. First Christmas in the U.S.

14. Filed for AOS (me and 2 daughters) thru the DORA program and got accepted and interviewed

15. Biometrics done (3 of us)

16. Happily married

17. Nice friends here in Texas and able to meet some Filipinos here.

However, I am just sad that I have to leave behind my 22 year old son in the Philippines. He is not eligible for K2 because he is already above 21 at the time of John's petition. We could not do anything about it because we could not file for the petition before the annulment decree was out. The annulment process took so long. I am just so worried because my children and I have a permanent protection order (relative to Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004)against my ex-husband and I hope that my ex won't do anything drastic to my son. Anyways, ex doesn't know where my son lives and the court orders him not to communicate nor go near him. But a person "out of his mind" is out of control and would not follow court orders. My 2 daughters and I are safe from my ex but I am worried about my son.

2007: praying for the arrival of our green cards as early as possible; hopefully we will have good job opportunities and social network; praying for a blissfull and happy marriage with God in the center of our lives; praying for the safety, good health and good opportunities for all our children (especially my son, who is left in the Philippines); praying for a new home(depends where our job opportunities will take us)

As much as I wish I could say it was great, it was just alright. I hate not being able to see the good in things... but being honest 2006 was amazing and extremely difficult emotionally. I both got to be with some amazing people, but also had to leave them after over a year spent living with them. But I was reunited with my love for a couple of weeks, which was the greatest part of my year... and also the saddest when I had to leave. Really it is all part of a journey and that has formed me, so while I wish I were with my love now I guess I wouldn't change it because it has made me who I am and I have learned and grown.

2006 was a bittersweet year for me.

My Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer and only lived on for another 10 weeks after that. I spent the last week with her, slowly watching her fade away. She died in July and I miss her terribly.

The other side of the coin is that I finally made it over here to be with my husband.

My Y2006 was very happy. I got to spend 10 out of 12 months with my Fiance (b-friend at that time) as I arranged a long-term internship in the company where he works. We lived together merrily and found out that we don't really want to live without each other anymore. The year concluded with his Proposal on Christmas Day. The worst part - my coming back home to Europe - came in Jan 2007, so it didn't really spoil the nice Y2006 :hehe:

Oh and I also got to spend a wonderful time with Him on Hawaii - what could be better, huh?

The first portion of Y2007 doesn't look too good (waiting and waiting), but then everything will get only better. We will get married and will be together forever. Even though there will still be so much paperwork and red tape ahead of us, at least we will be able to face it hand in hand :)
