Hi All,

I am currently a permanent resident. I would like to bring my parent to the US. I will be eligible to become US Citizen this June. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could provide answers to the following questions:

1. After I become a citizen, how long does it usually take for my parents to become permanent residents?

2. I also have a brother, who just turned 18 and unmarried. Would I be able to apply for him as well when I apply for my parents?

3. If no, would my parents be able to apply for him once they become permanent residents? and how long would this process take?

If you apply for your brother the current wail for a visa is about 12 years. If you get your citizenship ( if you file in June it may be year end before your oath ) Currently I 130's are taking about a year so your brother may be approaching 21 before they have a change to file for him There is a strong probability that he will age out before he gets a green card. In that case your brothers petition through your parents would take almost as long as yours.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
