Future jobs in the USA

Everyones deductibles are high if received from ACA from everything I have read so far. Do you have any links showing that everyones deductibles are normal? Also many that had full time jobs are now now reduced to part time. The estimates are pretty high at the loss of jobs occurring according to the CBO.

So what about the ACA is so great?

Much like the guns Obama never took, the stress of ACA amongst the sheeple of the fear mongers is priceless!

My wife got a great policy thru Obamacare..

My wife got a policy with a 500 dollar deductible and 500 dollar Max out of pocket for 57 per month

Which policy is that? I'd like to read up on that one myself.

You mean the stress of premiums doubling and tripling for folks that were already buying insurance? Or the $10,000 + deductibles? Yeah, those ARE stressful. I know I would be stressed if I was paying $7000 per year for a deductible!

As would I, however NOTHING has changed for me. I am skeptical of much of the wailing and nashing of teeth.

Nothing has changed for me either. I am lucky, as are you. But many are not so lucky. Not sure why you are skeptical. A lot of info out there about the increases. But I am more going on what I hear from friends, less on what I read.

Filed: Timeline

I will concede and agree that deductibles are high for some people. Based on what I have read they are around $5,000 for middle class households making around $ 59,000 a year.

However before the ACA a lot of those same people were paying $10,000 or more for certain plans.

Some people are paying more but at the same time they have greater protections. Insurance companies can't take your monthly premiums and dump you or deny you treatment. Maybe that is a fair trade off maybe not I don't know.

A lot of people especially those who are poor and the working poor deductibles are subsidized by the government via tax credits so they are the biggest beneficiaries of the ACA.

So basically it sounds to me that many of you are complaining that it's too high want the same thing I want :) that is a low cost single payer plan ran by the government and eliminating the influence of the health insurance lobby. I'll even go a step forward and say it can be ran by private insurers whose profit margins are regulated by the government.

Everyone wants to blame the ACA but fail to put blame in the right place. Employers don't want to provide health care, so they cut their workforce to part time. Why not blame the employer? AOL turns a huge profit and now they say they want to cut back 401k contributions because of the ACA. How about they are a bunch of greedy pricks who don't care about their workers.

Also Obama delayed a year the employer mandates so when these companies make these announcements about cutting down FTE to PTE I think that's a bunch of #######. When papa John said they need to charge 14 cent more for a pizza to pay health benefits I say how about the top execs take a smaller salary and bonus.

It's a blue/Cross Shield. They also adjust the Out of pocket Maxs and deductible for income.

Is this a 500 for a full year?

I pay about 120 a week for my insurance. My yearly deductible is 4 times your wifes. My premiums have risen 100% in 3 years due to this.

Yes 500 deducible for a whole year . Out of pocket max is the same

I think you are one of the first I have read who actually did better under ACA. Is this funded thru her work, or entirely on her own?

Nope neither of us work. It is completely ACA. When I was working 50 hours a week it was 450 per month with a 3000K deductible and 5K out of pocket with my company.

Not working in america is great

The one that gets a subsidy.

Exactly. I am poor on paper now as far as AGI, although I have a net worth north of 7 figures.

The ASA does not look at net worth on AGI, which for a man in the rental Biz can be low.

A lot of wealthy people who report a low AGI are going to go to the bank on Obama care.

Go Obama
