They just sent mine to the consulate too, I don't think there's anything to worry about. If something would have been wrong they would most likely let you know.

I think they don't want anything impeding the process. To my knowledge, the consulate doesn't open the results anyhow, unless there's some infectious disease - I'm sure the physician's have a different reporting process.

Also remember that the medical system is different in each country. I'm accustomed to my physician giving me results of any blood test so I can look at them, that's not the case in every country.

When my fiancee got her results..they told her right away that she had tuberculosis and had to undergo 7 months of treatment... Maybe its a good thing that they didnt tell you anything.

oh and my case is still sitting at "ready" tooo.. even though she finished the interview. I called the embassy and they said its because they case is still "unprocessed"..even though it was updated today and still says "ready"

As one poster said, no you don't get the results unless there is a serious infectious disease. Another poster pretty much bolstered that with the TB case where he got the results.

So no news for you? Well I would say based on what we learned here tnat no news is good news.

I'm assuming that the poster who stated his wife was told she had TB and then had to undergo treatment, that the evidence of daily TB medication had to be or will have to be presented to the consulate. The US doesn't mess with TB. Even here, people are quarantined in hospitals and only released if they agree to Direct Observed Therapy (DOT) which I've had to set up for patients before. If they miss one dose, they are sent back to the hospital until therapy is over.

But to the OP, I'm sure everything is fine. My husband was told everything was fine and he was clear, but that was it.

I'm not sure what the last poster is getting at. My husband had a medical like is required. The results of the medical were given to him. He brought them to the interview. End of story.

The OP was asking if the results being forwarded to the consulate without knowing what's inside is normal. Yes, this is normal. My husband still has no idea what's inside that envelope, just that he is clear from his medical.

There will probably be a delay if someone has an infectious disease, TB, HIV, etc. Although, I believe HIV requires a waiver, whereas TB would require treatment and clearance.

So your husband received that diagnosis and needs treatment?

Syphilis is a communicable disease, which is probably why they are requiring treatment and clearance before they will send it to the consulate. It shouldn't affect visa issuance if he receives treatment and is cleared before the date of the interview.

Treatment for communicable diseases can cost a lot in the states and I'm assuming that's one of the many reasons USCIS has a tough policy on them.

Hopefully the treatment will be successful and the documentation will be forwarded in time. And for your own safety, it's best that this get treated immediately so you don't become infected.
