I have a buddy who is an animal behavioral therapist.

He explained that when two dogs live in a house sometimes they have little fights, because of pack pecking order, territory, etc..For those of you that have dogs you have seen it. It usually happens when you get home or at feeding time. A lot of teeth gnashing ,growling and maybe a little ear nipping, but no real damage.

He went on to explain that if the owner interferes it makes it worse, because it is usually the result of the non-dominant dog doing something it would not normally do, if the human was not present. He cautioned to back away and let the natural pack order take over.

Now where I am heading with this.??

This is the most peaceful widely swinging thread ever at VJ, and it did not take any Mod action to make it happen.

It is my opinion that when the mods sweep in with the widely nonsensical actions "some of them" take, it only creates more strive,which leads to more bickering, which leads to more reporting, and the situation then begins wrapping on itself like an intensifying tropical storm, until it reaches Cat 4 status.The end result is less posting, less participation and more animosity, not less.

The less moderation, the better. One or two mods coming into these forums and then acting inconsistently and deleting things that shouldn't be removed and keeping things that should ... only causes issues. So unless moderators decide to actually "police" this place properly, they should only act when actually necessary.
