Don't let the talking heads fool you. The Limbaughs, Hannitys,Coulters and Morgans of TV are not journalists, so much as they are entertainers. That is something many foreigners fail to realize, so you are not alone in that misconception.

Yup. Politicians employ tricks like this all the time. Kind of like the whole campaign donation limits. Keep it under $2k, and no one bats an eye. Even if dead people "contribute" to a particular campaign.

What Americans fail to realise is that none of their networks, mainstream or cable, have retained the ability to divorce actual news from opinion. To a "foreigner", as you wish to put it, who was brought up on a clear separation of news and opinion, this is as clear as day, and all the denials from USCs from across the political spectrum make no impression whatsoever.
