Our i-129f was originally filed in March of 2013 and approved in August of 2013. It was forwarded to the NVC and from there they advised they would forward it to the US Consulate in London within a week. Few weeks went by and fiance received the packet of info regarding the forms he needed to fill out. Filled them out and submitted everything in November. Everything was received and approved as of December 18, 2013. When we check the status of our case it says ready, and that the interview will be scheduled by the issuing consulate. Great! Now just the waiting game. Nearly two months brings us to today, where we still have not received the interview appointment packet. On the Department of State website it says the interview will be scheduled by the issuing consulate, and from there you schedule to have your medical exam before the interview. On the US Embassy in London website it says an interview will not be scheduled until the results of the medical have been received by the embassy. Has anyone ever gone through this with the embassy in London? Everytime we try to call someone to find out we can't seem to get through to an actual speaking human being. Does he need the medical exam, with the results forwarded to the embassy first? Or do we just wait it out for the interview packet. It's been nearly two months now..

The embassy in London won't book your fiancées interview until he has had the medical.

Once the embassy has received the medical results they will give a date for the interview.

London is waiting on you. Each consulate has their own procedure. Try reading this thread for detailed information about the London process. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/ , especially posts 2 and 4.

Also review your instruction letter because your petition approval has expired. There are instructions from London in the letter saying what to do to have it revalidated.

We never received an instruction letter or anything. I guess that's what we're waiting on. The last thing received was the packet my fiance got in the post in regards to the forms he did online, back in August of last year. I've been trying to get ahold of someone to find out when our appointment letter should be received but I can't get through to anyone. I figured maybe we needed to schedule something in order to get the letter..

I guess what I'm asking is... Do we wait for an instructions packet to arrive before scheduling the medical? Or should we just schedule the medical regardless? I wanna get a move on this process and we've tried calling multiple phone numbers and no one can give us answers! It's ridiculous!

There is no way to speak the the Immigrant Visa Unit by phone. That changed in the summer. There is an online contact form http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

You say you never got an instruction letter, but in your first post you said--

THAT was your instruction letter. Right? Did it come from the embassy to the beneficiary?

You also said

On the US Embassy in London website it says an interview will not be scheduled until the results of the medical have been received by the embassy.

Then follow what London tells you and get the medical results to them. Also I gave you a link for a detailed guide about the London process written by me, so I wouldn't have to write it over and over to each person. Read it. Use the links to find things needed like readiness form, payment site, list of documents needed, etc.
