I'm in the middle of AOS right now. Me and my wife want to move to a bigger apartment in the same building, but I'm wondering if changing address will slow down my process? Does anyone have any experience with that ? Should I just wait till my GC and then move, or it doesnt hurt to change address ? Thanks internets, I'm counting on your wise advice.

Keep in mind the post office will not forward anything sent to you by USCIS, so changing address may result in things like NOA2, RFE, EAD-Card, Interview Appointment letter getting returned to USCIS.

I read cases about moving causing problem all the time even when you submit an AR-11, and call USCIS several times to change then confirm the address change. They still end up sending correspondence to the old address.

well if it gets shipped to an old address its not a problem though, since im moving within the same building, and it is the building workers who sort all the mail that comes to the building. i can just tell em that mail can be coming to me for an old apartment, so they can just give it to me.

im asking more in terms of processing time, would it slow it down?

No it does not slow anything down.

Just remember that anytime and alien moves within the US that an AR-11 needs to be filed, and after they have Green-card, that AR-11, and I-865 need to be filed when a move happens. By law the AR-11 needs to be filed within 10 days.
