VJ...

Our CO must be working his little tail off because our AOS interveiw (APPROVED) was (21 Mar), we received an email from USCIS last night (22 Mar) welcoming the new Permanent Resident, and we received another email today (23 Mar) indicating that the EAD card production is ordered. SWEET!

Thanks again for all of the congrats and well wishes.

Cheers!!!

Hey Sheriff,

Congratulations! That is awesome news. I know exactly how it feels because Analyn got approved yesterday. Our interview didn't have all of the excitement that yours did, but it was successful. It took maybe 15 minutes and it only took that long because the interviewer was having some trouble logging on to his computer. Other than that it was all very pleasant.

How did you meet? When did you go there and how are you liking are the only questions that I can remember. We talked a little about Bicol where he was from, because I love Bicol Express and about being from big families. He was from a family of 12 kids.

Once again Congratulations to you, and thanks again for all of your posts on VJ. Your posts were always informative and often amusing!

I am sending our wish for a happy and loving life together.

take care,

much love

VJ... He also gave us a notice of conditional residency, which states that Jhen has been granted conditional residency under Section 216A of the Immigration and Nationality Act and must file to remove the conditions within 90 days or face removal from the United States.

The instructions to remove condititions within 90-days does NOT make sense since the "conditional residency" is for the first two years of marriage. Did the CO mean make sure to file within 90-days of the end of the 2-year period?

Sorry BJZags...

I was paraphrasing from the AOS approval letter and forgot to write file within 90 days of the two year period. I pray that all is well and good with you and your beloved...

Things are going great. Finally got my 2006 taxes complete, so we can file our AOS, EAD and AP documents tomorrow. How I wish I was in California for such fast processing. Seems like east coast runs several months longer to get the GC. Hopefully my ####### retention again allows me to make no mistakes, and have our paperwork go through smoothly.

BJZags...

You did not have to wait in order to file the paperwork. However, it probably saved you some effort because I'm sure the consular officer would ask about your 2006 taxes (at least our CO asked, but we have not filed yet). My kuya is a CPA and he's reviewing in the process of filing our taxes. This part of the process is 90% less stress than the visa process. Thank goodness. Plus, the COs don't seem as uptight about the paperwork. Hell, in our original submission, we did not submit the certified copy of the marriage certificat, Jhen had not been administered the TD shot (so we used the DS-3025 from the Philippines, we didn't get the civil surgeon to tranfer the information on the DS-3025 to the i-693A, and we were approved. Thank goodness they did not issue an RFE, but I was prepared for that (not to mention expected one that never came). Keep in mind, that we did have everything complete with the originals and copies during the intervew. How's Analyn doing? I get a sense that everything is very well with you both. Paul, please keep in touch...

Again, that must be the good fortune of the laid-back state of California. I had read about repeated RFE's for 2006 taxes among other VJ filers, so I decided the extra time to complete the return would more then make-up for the delay an RFE might cause. (and I can give the govt. back its tax refund in the form of immigration fees).
