Hi my name is Gary,

I would love to say that I am am very happy to be starting the Visa journey very soon with my fianc'ee Eva smile.png , but before we send in our I-129f package we would love to get some well informed advice from some senior members who may have encountered a similar issue to which we are questioning in this topic. This is the issue: Eva who is a Hungarian citizen has been residing and working in Ireland for approximately 7 years now, This is our question: should Eva have the interview in Ireland where she resides or in Hungary where her citizenship is? Are there any restrictions or requirements? If it is a matter of choice then where may be the better choice? History shows that Ireland takes approximately 6 to 10 months where Hungary takes only a couple to just a few months to acquire the K1 Visa. Please as much info will be helpful as we know no one who has obtained a K1 Visa and have found different suggestions for this topic online. We are trying to make this transition go as smoothly as possible and avoid possible any delays in the process.

Thank You,

Gary Simard

***** Moving from DCF to K1 fiance visa ****

She can interview in in Ireland, as she resides there. If she moves back to HUngary she can interview there, but it is not true that Hungary has a significantly shorter process that Ireland- most of the processing is done in the USA by USCIS, so the only delay would be after the 6+ months of processing there, how quickly you can get an interview.

We're in a similar situation. South African living in Ireland with dual citizenship. We chose the embassy in Dublin. It's where he lives. :)

Thank you, we decided to have the interview set up in Dublin as well, we figured that would be the best scenario seeing as that's where she lives as well.
