I had to get that off my chest.

PT Cruisers are poorly engineered. I'd never buy a Dodge/Chrysler after seeing some of the engineering nightmares they produce. For example, to get to the battery in a Sebring, you have to remove the front passenger side tire because the battery is behind the wheel. That's ridiculous. Another example would be a lot of the later model Dodge trucks. In some, you have to replace the whole fuel pump assembly (200+ just for the part) in order to change the fuel filter.

I can't remember which make and model it was, but there was a car that, in order to change the oil, the engine had to be removed. No kidding.

I've never heard of that before. I'm sure it was some custom or extremely pricey sports car, if it even exists. It's certainly no production vehicle.

LOL! I'm with you Sarah. I 'thought' that I liked them when they first came out....then a friend got one and all she had was problems with it. Her husband who is a mechanic tried to talk her out of getting it, but she just wouldn't listen. He says the engine is the engine from a Neon, which is ####### too. Funny story, when Khallid got here he saw the PT Cruiser and said "what is that?" Now every time he sees them he says he hates them. I have a CR-V now and I swear my next car will be another CR-V or another Honda. They rock!

I'm glad I don't have a PT Cruiser! This thread would have made me cry!

I'm sorry but I just think they look ridiculous. I think my blood pressure goes up from seeing them on the road. They just annoy me.

We call them "PT Losers"

I am happy with my current vehicle. I bought a Ford Fusion about 3 months ago.

Mine is just like that, same color but I've tinted it and added a spoiler to it. It's a great ride...I enjoy driving it.

As someone who has a sebring.. The battery is actually not as difficult as you might think to get out and in (and its on the driver's side, not the passenger side..).. Not really any more difficult to change than some other cars.. There wasn't any room for it under the hood since they have packed everything else in there so tightly! Besides which.. you can still jump it from under the hood so its not that difficult at all.. We love our Sebring (convertible) its an awesome car!

But yeah.. definately do not like the PT Cruiser.. ugly ugly ugly...

Did you compare it's performance to Toyota or Honda? Those two companies consistly make reliable cars in the compact range that I don't see how anyone would buy anything less.
