Hi maybe I am re-posting a similar question but I can't find exactly what I am looking for to do for our taxes.

I am a Canadian immigrant living in the US with my husband since August. We got married in August and filed for AOS. I received my advanced parole work permit at the end of November, so I worked for the month of December.

We did married filing jointly so we claimed my income here as well as my income from Canada on our US taxes (we filed the exemption for my Canadian income).

Now when I do my Canadian taxes do I have to claim his US income as well? Do I file as married?

All the advice I can find online doesn't answer this and it is all very confusing.

You have to file special "exit taxes" in Canada. Because you weren't married while a resident of Canada I do not think you have to file as married up there (since your tax year ends when you became a non-resident.) However there is a website http://forums.serbinski.com/viewforum.php?f=2 that can help you out!!! :) They specialize in Canada US taxes
