I am a beneficiary, got my interview letter, it says:

· Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview.
My husband is sponsoring me and he is working for a big company i mean he is not a self-employed, what should i bring to my interview, tax transcripts from IRS or just W-2 tax returns are ok???

so far what i understood is that
1:) I believe your husband (petitioner) submitted 2012 Tax return and Embassy now want 2013 Tax return at your interview time.
2:) your husband (petitioner) didn't file tax return for the year 2012 and applied for Income tax extension that is kind a permission from IRS to file tax late......He might be submitted Affidavit of support (other person) who will financially support you ....Now embassy want that IRS extension letter that he probably submitted in the behalf of Tax return 2012 and now you husband has to file tax return for 2012.

not sure, but may be someone here could help you.

You need transcripts for the most recent return filed, copies of the W-2 for year 2013 if he has not filed for 2013 yet, and most recent pay stubs showing current income.

tax transcripts are better than the entire tax return as it's less paperwork but you can send either one.

Current Pay slips can take place if Current Tax return is not available ?????

You need the transcript for the most recent tax return that was filed by the petitioner and if not yet filed for 2013, W-2's, 1099's, etc for 2013, and proof of continuing income for 2014 such as most recent pay stubs. Pay stubs or w-2's will not do it alone.

Okay if everything is current on file at the NVC, then you do not need to being anything. You do NOT need 2013 tax information until after April 15, 2014.

What this letter says is: if your husband filed a tax extension so that he didn't have to file his taxes and sent that information to the NVC, then you must bring his most recent tax return or tax return transcript to the interview. Even if that return is the year before. However as the tax date has not happened, you do not need either of these. It's a general letter. It is the same letter sent to eveyone, it's not specific to you except the embassy and date.

Read throughly, interpret literally.

2012 is the year that your husband should have sent to the NVC and if he did so, you do not need to do anything unless his job status changed.
