Many people apply for it even if they have no travel plans. You never know if you'll have an emergency that forces you to leave the country before you get the green card. For my husband, we just put down that we had a trip planned for several months out, although we did not. We had no issues getting approved.

You should always apply for your AP because its free, little paperwork, and if you have an emergency you can leave the US and return (once you have the AP card of course).

ETA: AP is free when filing with, or after, an AOS I-485 application.

Thanks! So, my application Type will be checked at 1d correct? Applying for advance Parole?

Then I should complete Part 7.

Do I need to explain how I quality for an AP document?

You can also leave them blank and then hand-write Unknown for the date and length after printing out the form. You do not need to provide an explanation/reason statement for wanting/needing AP when filed with a pending I-485.
