All,

I took my dad to IR5 interview on 01/10/2014 in Montreal. At the end of the interview, the interviewing officer told us my dad passed the interview and gave him a "Welcome to the United States of America" sheet. The officer also told him his immigrant visa will be sent to him within 2 weeks. That's where the good news came to a pause.

On Jan 24 after waiting for two weeks, no news. CEAC website still showed “Ready”. Then I submitted online inquiry form to Montreal consulate and got the automatic response saying “Thank you for your submission. We will attempt to respond to your inquiry within 10-15 business days.”

Another two weeks passed. We've been waiting fro 4 weeks. During the past 3 weeks, CEAC ‘s Status Updated Date refreshed 3 times. but still showed “Ready”.

Is Montreal consulate’s online inquiry form really working? Has anyone ever received any formal response from Montreal consulate via this online form? What could go wrong in my case? Really appreciate your advice, comments, tips. I plan to call DOS #3 and ask a visa specialist to help me.

Thank you!
