However We have many here that almost weekly make some claim that turns out to be not true. I have done it before. Often times they just insult when it is pointed out

Gary did it once and it has spawned so much interest. So many here are obsessed with the guy. Not you , but it is amazing

I wanted to keep this thread insult free and stick to the point. I know that's wishful thinking here, but we've done ok so far. It's nice to see some people do a bit of research on their own too. I think it helps gun owners and anti gun people to have correct information. I like to welcome new people to the sport/ hobby. Lots of people have negative images of guns and gun owners because of what they see on tv day in and day out. I prefer to spread goodwill. You respect my right to own a gun, I respect your right not to.

I believe it stems from the fact that Gary tends to override any thread he comes into. No matter what the subject is, it will become about Vermont, guns, or Alla. On top of that, he tends to view anyone who's not from Vermont, married to a RUB wife, or has a gun, as inferior. He's made this clear more than once. I've seen him talk to member with nothing but disdain based solely on the fact they don't think Vermont is Valhalla.

From being here and taking the stance I do, I know I have a target on my head. Being black and Muslim, taking the high road is a must. Meaning, if I'm wrong or can't find a way to put something in the proper perspective, I'll apologize and restructure myself. It's like being a bully with no real power, I've seen him dismiss a few members, only for them to come back with stuff he's posted a while back which contradicts what he's talking about now(I've done it at least twice).

It has spawned so much interest likely because of the attitude behind the claim. Gary has a certain way of typing his responses with a very "know-it-all" attitude that I'm sure is very deliberate. For someone who claims to be right so often (and he is, sometimes, don't get me wrong) ... it's sad when they can't even admit that they were a) lying to mislead or b) simply mistaken.

When someone comes in and types paragraphs upon paragraphs about how they know much more than you do, then when that person ends up being very obviously incorrect, people will be eager to point it out. Especially when the person in question hides away from acknowledging their "mistake"...

This isn't the first time he's been wrong or misleading, and it won't be the last. And as long as he continues to tell people how right and smart he is, people will continue to take interest in pointing out how wrong he can be.

We switched from CC and began talking about crime rates in IL and other states that have liberal gun laws. I have some good statistics that I would like to post comparing the crime rates in the states with easy CC laws. I would like to keep this discussion open. I am asking for off topic posts to be removed once again. I don't want anyone thread banned or censored.
