OK, so I can say more likely, they're earning in the 20K range...and honestly, I think that's a high estimate. I mean, the whole friggin point of allowing work visas is to get cheap labor.

the chinaman construction worker in Singapore get what? 1200 a month?

my suspicion is that they take home a lot less. somewhere in the 800 range. really very sad. there was a case of a foreign construction worker (bangladesh) recently who was earning $1.50 a day.

there's 2 kinds open to malaysian non-degree holders, work permits and S pass, depending on their qualifications and the industry they want to work in. there *is* also an EP/employment pass but that is harder to come by and has a much higher qualifying income threshold.

So it's also safe to say, that they're not becoming PRs either. Unless they find a Singapore geezer :)

that's better than the 60 cents a day in Bangladesh....

But really, 1.50? that's crazy. No way! At least 15 bucks may be?

Bangladesh- The new china

for a chinaman? possible these days.

for a malaysian? we are not as kind and gracious to our malaysian counterparts. tongue.png

Well I sorta figured that...There's plenty -a- snobbery goin on in Singapora...

Ooh...I know a hot Singaporean female police detective here. I want her to cuff me.....

wait, I gotta go get Tiff. It's V Day, but crappy out. So no going out. Keep talking, I'll definitely read it. This is very interesting.

(Don't mind me, I always yawn when I'm interested)

nope, $1.50. the level of foreign worker exploitation is crazy here. when i was teaching piano, the school decided our salaries based on nationality. singaporeans started at $1800 and could get more depending on qualifications, malaysians $1600, indonesians and filipinos $1400, china (including the phd holding teacher in our school) $1200.

Kit....I need you to answer some questions so that I know I'm not f-ing nuts.....

tiger balm is singapura product. singapura company. often imitated in china,

sometimes made under license in malaysia for world-wide export

but

it's a singapura company (one of my old clients when I lived there)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It's invented by a chinaman, ergo....it is a Chinese medicine.

Just like egg foo young. Invented by a chinaman, in USA. Ergo, it is Chinese food.

And a St. Paul sandwich, also Chinese food.

Sweet and sour pork, chicken lo mein, beef ravioli, etc....

Do you guys remember me mentioning Tiffs good cousin? The one that came from Malaysia in 2008 on an F1?

And now he's going to Columbia? (The school, not the country)

He hooked up with a china chick, also on an F-1

The poor ####### never had a GF, this bimbo played him good. Now he's sobbing all the time to Tiff.

Man that story can have it's own thread on VJ.
