Where's Asia. I need to tell her that Poland won an Olympic gold for backward skiing......

Take her to $eaworld and we can't be friends.

Well of course I'm going there.

But I thought you were mad at them because they imprisoned your friends....

Kit is really giving up a lot to come be with me. Since her family has to be in the dark, its like she's giving up them too. It's sad thinking that I might not ever get to meet them, and if I do it might destroy their relationship. I feel grateful she's willing to go through with it even with all this hard stuff. She puts up with a lot, including me and my nose digging.

Hmmm.. Maybe meeting Kit's family is the key to break the ice and let them know/see you in person, take away the crazy untruth image of you that they have built up in their minds (The tattooed white guy who like to party, drink, smoke, fool around, promiscuous, speak foul language, just like those white trash expats hanging around at the Singapore clarke quay bars).

Perhaps they are thinking that you are not serious with their daughter, since you never make the effort to reach out.

Asian mentality, the younger people take the first move to address the elders.

You bring your sincerity and good faith, and let the chips fall where they may.

At the very least, you will a clear conscience that you have done your part to reach out.

My parents never met my spouse before I get married. They only saw his pictures but I did make my spouse call my mom to talk briefly, so that my mom could actually connect something to his pictures, taking away some uncertainties about my spouse.

And then we went back to Singapore together to see my family and relatives.
