i'm feeling kinda bleah so been lurking, mostly, today. still down with the flu, ran a fever in the afternoon. plus seems like everyone is making it their life mission to tell me i shouldn't leave singapore, shouldn't leave my family behind, i'm making a bad choice, etc, etc. the main problem is that most of the important people in my life have no idea why i'm really leaving (they would never ever support the relationship, much less the marriage so i can't tell them without a major freakout happening). i just really want to be able to discuss wedding things with my mom...do girly things with her, like have her help me pick out a dress pattern, or even have the dreaded birds and the bees talk...i feel sad it's something she will miss out on...and at the same time, i know she'll be happier not knowing.

ah, i hope this feeling passes quickly and that all of you are having a better week. <3

Whatcha doing marrying the wrong race, sex, or religion?

Tell them you're converting to be a Jew, to marry a black woman in San Fran USA and getting male parts sewed on. Then after the family gets over their heart attack, tell them the truth. Anything will sound good after that news.

Tell her you're joining the peace corps and helping to build a bridge and a well at an impoverished village in Washington. And it'll take a few years?

You ever watch TV? And you see the peace corps building a bridge and a well in some poor village?

What do they need a well for if there's a bridge? The bridge spans across a river no? Vila! Water!

Hamdi, Amin, look...water!

Kit I got it! smile.png

Tell your mom that you're representing Singapore in the 2015 summer Olympic Games in Seattle.

Then when you get here, tell her you met and fell in love with a US Olympic athlete, and that you're never going home again smile.png

lmao i think that's a bit of a far stretch. what i told her is something i am planning on doing...i've worked with the organisation before and they do need volunteers who can translate southeast asian languages.

wo.

Is there a reason you can't tell your family?

i did tell my mom about jonas, way back when we first started getting serious, but she completely freaked out. she fell ill, wouldn't stop crying, totally emotional blackmail, but i don't think she could have helped herself. she is very traditional in her views, it is just how she is.

It's hard to lie about the truth

it really is.

I'm old and my memory is bad.

It needs refreshing often.

Btw, Dexter is a cooler dog than that snobby show winning dog....

Show dog pooped on the rug this morning.

ANGER.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.
