Life is good.

Been very busy - working at least 40 hours a week.

I hardly spend time on-line now between cooking all our meals from scratch, my weird shifts and spending time with the hubby.

I feel better about working when the family is eating healthy smile.png

How are things with you?

Things are fair to sunny with me. Life chugs on, wishing it was really spring here. Good to hear life is going well. Just about everything we it is from scratch to. A change my wife made in my diet once she got here. Its good in some respects, but she's made me get fat with all the good cooking.

Glad you took the time to stop in and let us know how you're doing.

random observation: there are a lot of "hot" threads this week...

random question: in your esteemed opinions, is jealousy something normal a spouse/significant other will experience because they love you and therefore want you all to themselves, or is it a sign of a lack of trust?

A small amount of feeling jealous is probably normal. This will hardly been seen except to the person who actually feels it. When the jealousy becomes obvious to others, or the jealous person reacts with anger or controlling behavior, then its often a matter of lack of trust or self doubt about their own worthiness to be with that person. Plus any mix of the combination.

Kit, I agree with Nola. Sometimes you can't help but feel a bit jealous, but you can certainly control how you act about it. Some people overreact about the most ridiculous things - a friend of mine got into an argument with her fiancé because the cashier at the movie theater complimented his tattoo. How that was his fault, no idea.

Oooh, lots of luck today, J! :) I know you won't read this until afterwards, but still, sending good thoughts your way!

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

Totally not normal or healthy to be jealous because some random guy or girl flirted with them. That's just ridiculous.

My wife is very jealous, many of the women from her country are. But they generally have good reason as many women there are out to steal other men, and the local men seem to have little self control.

My wife got very upset with me because a waitress back in her country flirted with me. I actually didn't notice the woman was flirting, but I did notice the very short skirt and nice legs. I found out later all the waitresses were actually GRO's (the Philippines' nice name for prostitutes) laughing.gif

 When we first started dating, there were a lot of little things that my hubby perceived as me flirting with other people until I explained to him that in my culture they were just normal mannerisms. Example - I have really long hair, and I used to flip my head down to gather all my hair into a ponytail. Apparently this was me trying to call attention to myself. He's since learned that that's not the case and chilled out 100%, but those first few months of learning were challenging.

A former friend of my wife, thought my wife was flirting with her new bf, because her bf kept looking at my wife all the time. Her reason for saying my wife was flirting, was because my wife put lip balm on. BTW my wife's friend's new bf was after everything with two legs and hole. Quite the ash if you ask me.

Jealousy is a part of human nature. No amount of conditioning will eliminate jealousy and envy.

It has been my experience that Filipinas and Hispanic women are the most jealous types.....
