Feeling very lazy today. :( Just wanna curl up in bed and sleep foreverrrr.

Also, I'm in the market for some new running shoes. Any suggestions, ladies? Someone suggested the new Nike 5.0, but I've heard they run like 2 sizes small, which would make me need a size bazillion...

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

If you are going into serious running, I would recommend you to go to a local running store where the trained staff could properly determine your shoe type: neutral, stability/support, and motion control.

That's what I do when buying my running shoes.

I noticed that when my wife bought some Nikes. And yet the last pair she bought they didn't make in her size, she had to get the kids version, which actually saved us $30, so I didn't mind. Still think its crazy to drop $150 on a pair of tennis shoes, but it makes her happy so....

funny story - the Program Director went to school with me, we actually have 73 friends on fb in common aka we probably graduated around the same time. He only started this position at the beginning of Feb. of this year. Now ...the previous Director....also went to the same school as me lol

Not sure if that is good or bad...more pressure ? I dont know.

So far torn on clothes...black dress 3/4 length sleeves , top looks like a suit shirt really. I wanna go with scarf but nothing really works too well since its like a suit shirt....not sure where to put some color...probably pony tail with red hair band. That is all I can think about and my portfolio has a little red streak in it....

I pray someone has told you - but here in the Colonies -

--Usually you get the job through someone you know and

--for your type of job, wear clothes at the interview that you'd wear if you were already working there, but today is the day that yer giving a presentation to 200 private investors and you must dress conservatively, but appear demure, and absolutely sexually appealing ! (yes, I know it's hard, to appear demure and sexually appealing at the same time).

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I am interviewing with the Director along with HR manager and the clinic manager so I am positive that he does.

Still, I suggest you shoot a quickie email to your Program Director buddy - as he may not be aware you are actually IN the USA and seeking work at HIS employer. Something along the lines of:

Hey George - it's been a while since we last communicated on any level that was meaningful, but I wanted to let you know that I'm interviewing at your campus this week with _____ and ______. I'd appreciate it if'n you'd put in a word for me, even a good word would be stellar!

yeah. hey i wonder if my parents will ask jonas to pay a dowry for me if/when we do our traditional wedding in singapore. they might, to "save face", i.e. report it to the relatives but just hand the money back to us (i.e. him) after the wedding.

I say prepare for it. Great Cultural surprise for all involved, with a great outcome, mondo positive.

I studied the effects of the Ukrainian crisis in relations to the energy, and precious metals sector, as well as the riveting effects on the emerging markets.....

Hope you found some paths for the quickies !

My grandma did ask how come my hubby did not pay a dowry. My mom brushed it off that he is American, does not follow dowry practice tongue.png

But it will be a wonderful idea if Jonas could comes up with the dowry money and put up a good show for your parents to impress the relatives during the wedding. $9,999 is a good number biggrin.png

my favourite number is zero. the more after a positive integer, the better. $10,000,000 = happy kit. :D

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

You're just lucky they have something in your small feets size. !!!! Still, those attributes are important, when at a shoe store.

We were at a footlocker to buy 'basketball shoes' and the clerk would not initially sell us anything until we could tell the clerk which position the boy played. Seems Nike has delineated shoe type this decade, and I wasn't paying attention.

A heated argument ensued, and I called the boy to ask. It was all surreal, in a 'we gonna cut you if you not purchase basketball shoes for the boy' kind of way. Finally, the important attribute turned out to the be the color and the style and the artistic value of the racing stripes, as selected by my wife.

Moral - NEVER, EVER bring the auntie (my wife) into a shoe store to be the arbiter of shoe-type purchase for the boy.

and a HelpFul Hint for the Geezers - bring earplugs - as footlocker WILL NOT TURN DOWN the thuggy music.

I don't go to big chain store to buy running shoes, I support my small local running store. smile.png

ya well , Toofies, we got caught up in the 'lets go to the Galleria and spend lots of money' which goes completely against my grain of a frugal geezer. But that was ok. at least in theory. wink.png

Sounds like my wife. She bought Nikes at the Nike store in Mall of America. I was expecting child laborers would sell us the shoes, but amazingly they could almost pass for adults.

This is my wife when she when I tried leaving the store without buying her some shoes.
