can someone develop a sudden sensitivity to caffeine that wasn't present before? i had 2 tiny styrofoam cups of coffee (1 in morning, 1 in afternoon) and 1 can of diet soda for lunch and my hands are jittery again. :(

Lemme put my doctor hat on.....

1- yes

2- maybe it's the Chinese made styrofoam with melamine.....

3- my hands used to be steady as a rock. But now all jittery all the time...

Cut the diet soda. A lot of people develop a sensitivity to nutrasweet. Makes them jittery, upset stomach, headaches, etc....

confession: i must have at least 1 can of diet soda a day. i got hooked on it when i was using it as a zero cal substitute for coffee (with sugar and cream) and haven't been able to stop since. in uni, i was going through one 1-litre bottle a night while cramming for exams. :\

Its easy to check. Just give it up for a while and see if things get better. I've no some people that react so badly, its easy to tell they're sensitive to it. But I'm sure there are many people that have no idea they are.

Food allergies and sensitivities can show up after many years of consuming something with no ill effects. Try soda with sugar and see if there is no problem. Then retry the diet soda and see if it comes back again.

I've given up a few things in the past few days, and I dunno what's making me feel better.....

1- gluten

2- sweetener

3- smoking less

4- oil and grease

5- caffeine intake

When I developed food allergies, I had to cut out just about everything. Then every few days I could add something back in and wait to see the effect on me. Its a slow process, but effective.
