Sorry to hear about the apartment. One of the cute houses we were interested in, not linked here, that had a great location and good ceiling height might have gone back off the market again. They've been on and off the market for 2 years, which I don't get at all.

house hunting is so exhausting, it's like you have to fall in love enough to be able to view it as "home" but at the same time you gotta distance yourself in case stuff like this happens. i think i am gonna stop looking and let jonas handle it once he gets back to seattle.

When you guys buy/ rent a house. Bring a compass, try to get a house that faces the south or Southeast. We're in the northern hemisphere, where a south-facing house gets maximum sun exposure. Makes for a warmer, less moldy house.

will do, thanks for the tip.

well, a 1% fluctuation is unheard of.....in a months time, in 2 stable currencies, the fluctuation is 0.05-0.10%

then your 42 bucks did not fall solely to the strong dollar. Likely the exchange fees have increased. And why are you exchanging money? You money laundering international felon....

i don't know anything about why exchange rates go up and down, all i know is what i got in exchange for my $$$ :P

Very tiny stash is a couple hundred bucks. Sum tin tells me this was no very tiny stash. Thinking the Kitty has been holding out on us, and she's richer than Stevlar

man, i wish. my 'stash' is from very careful budgeting these last few months - packing a lunch to work instead of eating out, 80% of my wardrobe is handmade now which cut my clothes budget down by nine tenths, i haven't bought a new purse or shoes in forever...

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

Seattle is not even close to the top rainy city, in both total rainfall, and amount of rainy days

Not rainy does not equate to sunny days.

Note to self, the Kat steals shoes and purses, while using slaves to make her clothing.

well, then we'd have to find a cloudy day tracker

Seattle at 41 days (and counting) since last official sunny day

Now, Seattle isn't exactly known as "sunshine city". Turns out, a month or more without a sunny day is really not too rare between October and April.

Seattle only averages 58 sunny days a year with, on average, about 10-12 for each of the summer months so that doesn't leave much left for the other nine months. Indeed, Seattle and its 220 overcast days ranks as the cloudiest major city in the U.S. and only ranks a little behind Forks and Astoria, Ore. of major weather stations that track the data.
