Check into whether or not you need to be a resident before you try to enroll. Some states make you wait a year and have certain things before they will give you the in-state tuition rate. Trust me, you do NOT want to pay out of state tuition rates. (In Colorado it's a difference of like $300+/credit hr at a community college!!)

Yeah, that's the other thing I'm worried about. On the enrollment form it does ask whether I've been in RI for a year or more.

Edit: It's a bit confusing, all told. While there is a listing regarding In State, Regional and Out-of-State, the course itself is a flat fee as it's a non-degree course. So I probably am going to need a long chat with someone at the Admissions Office tomorrow.

Aye, as I just edited into the post, I had a look and I'm still no closer to an answer, so a call to the Admissions Dept. will be made tomorrow.

if it's in the continuing education department,

then manytimes the fees and level of fees are discretionary. doesn't hurt to ask/whine about it (no, I'm not kidding or using the wrong language) .
