I don't know about the etiquette of moving announcements but the card is very pretty.

At least in wasp culture, it is traditional to issue moving announcements so people can update their address books.

Also traditional to have hand written thank-you cards for lots of things and write traditional letters, etc.

We can't comment on whiny kids and grumpy gramps broadly anymore?

but allow people to whine and complain about USCIS making our marriage a joke, day in day out?

The issue is more the fact the comments are linked (or could be seen to be) to that thread, which a) has been closed and b) has had references to it modded out recently. Commenting in general on whiny children and grumpy grandfathers wouldn't normally be an issue, methinks.

Case in point. In the thread-before-last, I made two references to posts being modded, and Charles not only removed them but thread banned me. And.. well, you might remember the rest. I'm not sure I can say much else in public.

In other words, the jist of my point is another old saying of mine: Play it safe.

Well, food poisoning here.

Mrs. T-B. barfed twice and had the shats. Maalox seemed to help her.

Mini-B. has been barfing his poor little guts out for the last 2 hours. The first and worst completely soaked his twin bed next to ours. Mrs. T-B. ordered me to throw the sheets & one pillow in the garbage, because she said that the stench would never come out and would mess up our warshing-machine.

While we were changing his bed and had him on our bed, he barfed again, through the sheets that we had just put on today. I stripped the bed & mattress pad and they came out OK in the laundry.

I ate something different from what they did and have had no problems.

We called the clinic; the night nurse told us that if he barfs more than 10 times, to take him to the emergency room. He's up to 6 (the last couple have been chiefly retching).

Poor baby... he's scared, too. Mrs. T-B. is a great mommy.

Hope everyone is doing a bit better by now.

So Friday night my wife and I go out for dinner and movie. Of course we has just had a major snow storm, which started with freezing rain, creating ice all over the roads with snow on top. All the freeways were unsafe at anything near freeway speeds, so speeds were 25 to 40 miles per hour. After the movie, we've got a 15 mile drive and I hit a section where the car was shaking like crazy because the ice was loaded with pot holes, probably the road to this year. My wife had fallen asleep when the road was just 2 inch thick glare ice, and she suddenly wakes up shouting, "we're in the ditch, we're in the ditch, honey I'm scared". I inform her its just the road is full of bumpy ice and she falls back into her coma type sleep. Upon getting home after a white knuckle drive home, I wake her and get her up into bed. She's only about half awake the entire time. Come morning when she's actually really awake, she asked me how I got out of the ditch. Apparently the dream she was having was so realistic, she was still certain I had drove off the road into the ditchrofl.gif BTW there was more cars in the ditches while I drove around on Friday than I can even recall.

I say you walk over there, storm into the HR Directors office and demand an interview. How dare they not hire you!

Glad you made it home safe!

Absolutely not.

I'd be heavy on the banstick.

I have a hard time atm with either being to easy or too hard, dang hormones yup that is it yup yup thats it.

rofl.gif you know, at least I got an e-mail from one of their offices that they got my application and will review it but noting they received a lot of them. Whatever..at least I got an e-mail.

Lemon curd in the friiiidge !! It might have worked !! And gingerbread cake done too. Cleaned the house...floors were naaastyyyy. Moved stuff around and now happily enjoying opened windows and doors with sun coming thru. Took a walk at like 8am that was good too.

Making tarragon tunna melts today....keeping it light. Tomorrow is chicken pot pie day and then chilli and then cabbage/walnut pasta and then risotto and then...weekend - hate weekend.

Lemon curd sounds good, I'll pass on the Tuna melts though.

Amy bought Paczki yesterday at the store.. and to me, they're really just British style doughnuts, especially with the granulated sugar.

Ah, but what if we got rid of the suckers, as you so put it? The result depends on your viewpoint. It would either cause chaos.. or people would actually have to *gasp* LEARN.

I like to think that's part of the reason behind the London K1 guide that Nich and I authored. First off, we can answer basic questions with a link to the guide. Secondly, it updates the knowledge we have to current standards. Hopefully it would teach people to be self-sufficient, but I'm not sure it's having any success on that front.

So I am doing the final estate accounting and I have 149.24 more in assets than I should. Bizarre. blink.png It isn't bad on the scale of things or considering my mother thought the accounting for several months belonged on the back of multiple folders...

send it to me.

thanks in advance !

Email was never designed for 10M files. I've seen too large of files choke outlook and it will never acknowledge the message was sent, although its being sent every time. Causes problems for people on the other side when they need to download numerous copies of an oversized email, often never realizing its received the dang thing, cause each of many copies to be downloaded again and again.

Good luck on getting any phone company not to charge you for that.

A 10 megabyte handpone email. no la. no. just no.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I don't tend to anymore. I read the uppers but I only tend to post in OT and the UK forum. Next time I post in the uppers is to join one of the AOS threads going on, and that'll be in April when we send that off.

He would be dead? She never cooks? Guess you dont need to worry about fingernails if yer dead...

got it in one. God Bless You.

;)

I was listening to a program in Public Radio about the dialects in the UK. They were playing people saying things from different areas, and some of them I couldn't make out a single word. Now if that was English, you really could have fooled me.

switch over to bbc.co.uk/radio and you can learn more.

I am happy to be rid of daily ear training back in Liverpool and Merseyside.

I'd like to suggest something else, something a bit more mondo cool.

Dig around in all of the charity resale shops in yer area, looking for stationary. I got some really cool thingies for 5 bucks for a box of 1000 - heavy heavy heavy cardstock foldables, with mondo nice heavy envelopes.

THEN !!! You make a calligraphic insert on vellum (sorry, hunt a roll of drafting vellum at the charity resale shops as well, cut into the right sizes, use a warm iron to flatten em)

It's mondo nice.

Okay, so who are we calling stupid now?

me? sure - it's allowed, and I cherish it, always. come on, give it a whirly-swirly.. ;)

Why should I use my brain, when I could just ask my "What next? What to do?" questions online and a sucker will come along and spoon feed me? smile.png

we're all here for the pudding, O Toofy.

You know, the pudding contained ON the spoon.

;)

Not sure about you, I have noticed that old-timers are replying lesser and lesser in the upper forums. Maybe feeling jaded after sometime.

I have other thought, however malformed.

They not have time to post, as they be having the sexy-sex often since immigrating,

and

it wears em out - they need extra naps.

Sexy Sex is Fun! Try some, today ! .

Anyway, something interesting I've found. CCRI does a Teacher Assistant course. I'm considering the possibility of this, either when I get my DL or my GC later on in the year.
