My mom figures that everyone has some sort of abandonment issues. Either a fear of it or because they were at one point in time. My brother has likely never gotten over the fact that my mom had a nervous breakdown while married to my father and forgot everything, including who she was. By the time she was able to look after her children again, her ex's were a$$holes to put it lightly. I don't remember my mom leaving, I was 18 months old.

Does that mean she's feeling better?

Wow man, that's some story you got there (no pun intended)

And..yes. The highest temp for her today was 102, she has a raspy voice, took a 6 hr nap, ate pancakes, rice, strawberries, ice cream....now she's got her disney princess stuff all over the floor and watching sponge bob...

Yeah well I figure everyone has their stories. I have a long complicated one that makes some people's childhood suddenly look like roses when they thought it was the worst ever. But there are obviously worse things to go through as well. I think have a "normal" childhood is more rare than having one that is messed up. At least I know my child's isn't super messed up, she just doesn't live near both parents. Maybe it'll make her stronger in life; I hope so.

You know, I've read a couple of books where they kinda criticize the courts for so remarkedly siding with the mom all the time. And yet in most cases during certain periods of a child's life, the father is the more important parent....

But I digress. You're right. Well, at least you guys know my childhood was a little rough. No, very rough. I shoulda really ended up being a gangster man....

*slowly approaches* .....*offers cookie*....*pushes you towards bed*

Thanks for the cookie, and pushed to bed!

idea9dv.gif ya think ? biggrin.png

so hubs is trying really hard to make me feel better...even suggested we do marathon at the movies tomorrow. They are showing 10 hours of nominated movies. And he said he is bringing me something (I smell chocolate). He is really really trying hard and I am really really glad.

what just because I said I hate Canada? Sheesh....

HAha no I could care less about who hates Canada, someone has to be jealous of something.

Went and got a pedicure after work. My feet feel lovely. Also went and got the Jeep washed. Sure looks purty. smile.png I should take something out for supper... However I want to go to the liquor store and get some whiskey and coke. NOM NOM NOM..

on a non-related note - I wished my brother happy birthday (it's the day before mine). Granted I did it a day early for him. But he wished me happy birthday back yesterday. It's the first time my brother has talked to me in over a year. I'm happy, even with the one line facebook message.

A pedicure sounds like a piece of heaven right now! Glad your brother spoke to you, hopefully he is turning around.

Sounds like a case of overattention from the 2-year-old, definitely man. I'd bet a hunnerd fiddy on it, $i man.

Mini-Bone is trying to sing along with the Thomas the Train theme song, at the top of his little lungs, wee man.

She is wearing me out and I'm not even chasing her.

Ok so the kiddo sleeps from 3 to 9 (pm). Now she driving me nuts.....

That is how my daughter is on a regular basis

And don't forget you didn't abandon your daughter, moving further isn't abandoning. She will get to experience two different countries and help her grow even more.

I know for a fact Icaro is done, but I hadn't heard that Avianca bought AeroGal! That's a shame, as I quite like AeroGal and their cheap national flight prices. sad.png

They're still separate for a while. I must say that the Avianca phone rep whom I talked to last night was exceptionally courteous and helpful (trying to get a confirmation code & seats for Mrs. T-B. & Mini-B. on one leg of their upcoming Ecu visit -- Avianca flight code, operated by AeroGal).

well, has it ever occurred to you howdahel do they stay in business selling flight for so cheap?? Hmmm???

(The answer is, it's a front for enterprise corruption)

Not in Ecu, no man. TAME, one of the top airlines, was started by ex-military dudes. It's an impressive operation (to me, certainly). AeroGal has been the other big operator; I had no complaints. They even flew a prop-jet on a Sunday flight -- took me back YEARS. LAN (Chile) is the newest big player; I'm surprised that they were allowed to interlope. I flew on them once and was not displeased.

The cool thing about flying in Ecu is that you can walk up for a domestic ticket on the desired day of your flight and usually get one for no more than if you'd bought it two weeks before -- none of this "14-day advance purchase" garbage that U.S. airlines pull, no man. Part IV can probably elaborate, she man.

Need to try to arise at earlier-than-o'dark-thirty for GSs, si sigh and whee man. Had 9 on the itinerary; decided to double-check for more, and now have 14. Mini-B. has two birthday parties to go to, so I should have as much time for GS-ing tomorrow as I can stand to take, si man. However, I know in advance that I shall require a roaring nap at the end of it, zzz man.

Cat, prep, zzz man.
