My Parent's Wedding Pics

I've been visiting my parents for the holidays and my son was looking throught their photos albums. When he found my parent's wedding photos, he said, "Wow! Papa and Grandma look young!" hehehe. The were married in August of 1958 and I thought I would share these here (with their permission of course). There's a certain quality in old black and white photos that I think is missing in today's photos.

Nearly 50 years together and still very much in love...although gravity, grey hair, and wrinkles have made them unrecognizable. :P

I love the car shot, Steven. They look so happy!

I don't know why, but old photos make me kind of sad. No one can stop the passing of time...

Yeah, you'd go in shock if you saw what they look like now. :P But I guess that's love and life are about...sigh. I'm sure in there eyes they still see each other like it was 50 years ago...especially when they take off their glasses. :P

Jenn, that is very true. I was sorting out all the photos from my family into boxes for shipping over to the USA. I have tons of my parents' wedding, and even more of them from when they were children. I have some of my grandparents as children too.

I always start to cry a bit. It just seems so sad. These times are long gone, never to return.

Nice pics, gotta love those fashions. I think the simplicity of life then as shown in the pictures is one thing that makes old B&W pictures so special. Hmm, don't you just have to wonder what your grand kids will be saying about your wedding pictures 50 years from now?

Thanks. I'll have to ask my dad the make and model of the car. My father was 31 at the time and my mother was 25. :star:

They'll be saying, "Who stretched out your skin so that it hangs off of you like that?" :P

Great Pictures.

Before I moved to the USA. My mom gave me two nice pictures of her and Dad.

They are black and white pictures. I love those kinds of pictures.

They are hanging very proudly on my living room wall.
